Well, it seems it is (already?!) that time of year again. What do you believe are the big six to be featured in Geoff Keleigh’s The Game Awards?
Here are the highest rated releases this year according to: OpenCritic and MetaCritic.

Though last year’s show definitely left a bit of a blemish on my perception of the overall show, I think it’s still fun to speculate on what games will get that coveted “TGA Nominee” accolade. That said, here’s what I’m leaning toward:
GTA VI (safe)
TLoZ: Ocarina of Time (safe)
Resdent Evil Requiem (safe)
Mina the Hollower (safe)
*throws dart at wall for the remaining two slots…*
Forza Horizon 6
Pokémon Pokopia
Those last two slots can be filled in by like twenty other games lol. There are a lot of games that scored in the 87-89 region this year. Though Forza and Pokopia are the highest rated among them, so that’s my reasoning. Phantom Blade Zero may sneak it’s way in though, if early impressions reflect what the reviews will end up being.
I feel like GTA VI will sweep the show, just like Expedition 33 last year.
That said, I want Resident Evil Requiem and PRAGMATA to win a couple of awards.

The nominees will be made public mid November. GTA6 will launch November 19. Will the jurors have enough time with the game to nominate it (no idea when review copies go out)? Or simply do so on brand value alone?
Further more I think:
Resident Evil9
Pragmata
Star Wars Galactic Racer
Mina the Hollower
Big Walk
Ocarina of Time
GTA VI.
RES Requien.
007: First Light.
Pokopia.
Zelda: OoT.
Not sure abut the 6th game. Sadly Mina the Hollower is unlikely, but would be a good surprise in my book.
GTA VI , TLoZ: Ocarina of Time are the only ones id consider safe bets
Mina the Hollower is the one indie choice, since theres always one.
The other half of the slots imo are a bit of a toss up between REvilRequiem, Fire Emblem FW, Pragmata, Onimusha, Pokopia and Saros
I dont expect to be noms: Forza, Castlevania Belmonts Curse, 007 LL, Dawnwalker and Crimson Desert.
Zelda: OoT will get nominated, but...
If Nintendo doesn't at least fix issues like:
1. Navi's incessant interruptions during gameplay.
2. The unbearable need to repeatedly open menus to select items (swapping boots, outfits, etc).
...then the game won't deserve to be there!! That sort of thing is absolutely unacceptable by 2026 standards!!!
Did you like BotW? Be warned: OoT is a completely different game! Free exploration with liberty to go anywhere, great interactivity with the world, diversity in combat options, multiple solutions for boss flights/puzzles, etc. You are not going to find this in OoT.
OoT has very limited exploration and freedom. it's formulaic, and most bosses/puzzles are based on "learning" and using very "especific" steps to complete.

Well yeah, duh! But I'd say recieving the title of "TGA Nominee" is substantial enough to merit discussion and speculation. It shines a spotlight on more than one game released in any given year. You don't look at 2017 and solely think about Breath of the Wild; you also remember games like Persona 5, Mario Odyssey, Hollow Knight, Horizon Zero Dawn, Cuphead, and so on.
I wish The Blood of Dawnwalker would be there. That's my favorite game of the year with RE Requiem.
