Mario is the greater series, each entry of both series is on par with each other in quality but Mario has more that are impactful (SMB, SMB3, SM64, Galaxy duo, Odyssey, NSMB), I even personally prefer Zelda it consistently delivers great entries however outside of LOZ, OOT and BOTW industry impact is not the same as Mario.

Both The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario are easily my two favorite game series' of all time. Whatever I would pick next would still be a pretty distant 3rd. Both of their respective game designs were industry-changing in my opinion and both have entries that are some of my favorite games, ever.

But as imaginative and stellar as many of the Mario titles are, Zelda is just tops for me. I admit that the Super Mario series is probably more consistent as far as having (relatively) poor entries... cough... the DS Zeldas... cough, but the excellence of Zelda's highs are just too high to overcome for anything else.

Obviously, Mario is the greater contributor to gaming overall, but The Legend of Zelda series' quality remains supreme for me in the end. Voted Zelda.
