So are you PC exclusive or a console gamer too, and why?

PC only, unless you want Nintendo games, theres no reason to own a console. You can get a gaming laptop or gaming PC for very cheap that can play anything on steam.

I’ve always had a Nintendo console since the N64. Even the Wii U. I had Xbox consoles until halfway into the XOne gen when they decided to start putting out their games on PC.

The PS5 was my first PS home console purchase since the PS2, and most likely gonna be my last. Only thing that would peak my interest is the rumored PS6 handheld.

So outside of Nintendo, there’s not much else needed. I’ll buy Xbox games that have Play Anywhere support on the Xbox PC app in case Helix ends up being a console/Windows PC hybrid, and everything else I buy on Steam, along with Blizzard games on Battle.net.

So most likely, it’ll be PC/Nintendo combo going forward.

I have my PC and I have my Switch.

I've had a computer in one form or another in my home since 1989. But I've mostly had a console or two along with it. I had the NES and SNES, but skipped the N64/PS1 generation and played PC games exclusively. Then I came back with the Gamecube generation. And other than the Xbox One, I've had every Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox console since. That being said, even before the price increases and questionable practices from the console makers, I've decided that a PC and Nintendo combination were the way I was going to go next generation. I will never give up Nintendo games, and I can play about 99% of games if I just play on PC.

Also, those two images in the original post kinda bother me. People can't seem to separate PC gaming and the idea of sitting at a desk, and often cite it as a negative of pc gaming. My consoles and my PC are all connected to the same TV. I couch game on my PC, and have for years. The Steam Controller recently made it even better, but even before that, there was nothing hard about couch gaming on a PC hooked to a TV.

I consider myself primarily computer gamer when it comes to video games, with x86 PCs just being current flavour...although that "current" lasts for some 30+ years (before that it was C64 and Amiga 500) and this is mostly due to genres I prefer, which are rooted in computer gaming since their beginnings.

But I do own and play a lot on consoles as well (mostly Nintendo), and on retro handhelds for retro stuff.

Although I am a PC gamer, I have always been duo. JRPGs are much better experienced on console imo. Although recently PC has been getting JRPGs day 1, same time as console. So I may not need a console going forward.

I would say I'm PC only if it wasn't for three things:
1. I had Master System before PC and still enjoy it
2. 7 years ago I got my cousin's old PS2 and have played about dozen games
3. I have played ton of stuff on emulators for over dozen consoles along last 25 years

I'm pretty much PC only at this point. My consoles haven't been turned on in a long time. Newest consoles I own are an Xbox Series S and a Switch 1. I might pick up a Switch 2 in the future though. 

I'm pretty sure that I'm done with consoles. None of the Big 3 make many games that I care about and the advantages of PC, especially with the kind of games I like, mean that anything 3rd party I will prefer to play on Steam or GOG. There are SO MANY games to play on PC that I honestly never feel like I'm missing out. Steam sales have kind of changed the way I consume games, as well, which goes hand-in-hand with modern games almost never being complete at launch.

As of right now, I can't envision buying another console unless someone produces something truly mind-blowing. I don't see that happening.
