Forums - Gaming - Danganronpa 2x2 releases January 14

I'm... Cautiously optmistic about this.

I will play it, but I really hope we have some surprises this time, because one thing I absolutely hate about all Danganronpa games is how predictable the plot is in every game. We have 16 students, Monokuma starts the game, they all play along, and when there are 5 or 6 left, they suddenly decides to take him down and "win" the game.

I skipped V3, and from what I saw, it's the worst of the main trilogy, and that says a lot to me. Danganronpa 2 is my favorite, so of couse I will try the new game, and I'm curious about this new character. Where did he come from? Will he finally be someone who can actually face Monokuma?

January 14 for all main platforms.

It's great to have a proper new Danganronpa game after so long. I loved 2 so an alternative version of that should be very fun. The series will be in a not ideal spot now though where going from 1 to this will be a massive jump in visuals but then going to V3 will be a notable downgrade.

really hyped for this game, DR is one of my favorites series.

I loved Danganronpa 1. I fucking hated 2. Couldn't even finish it.

I wouldn't dismiss V3 so quickly since its trial mechanics and ending take risks that completely shift how you view the usual pattern. Do you think 2x2 will stick closely to Goodbye Despair's original murders or fully overhaul the cases?

It's confirmed that 2x2 will feature both the original Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair story and a Slayhem Mode with a brand new story featuring the same characters.

I been waiting for this for so long. Love all games in the series including Another episode.

Danganrompa 3 killed all my interest in this series. Which is sad, the first two games are some of the best visual novels I've played.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
