every direct i get my hopes up. every direct i feel like, this is finally going to be the direct where we get the follow up to actraiser 2. 

and every direct it never happens.

when is it going to happen? ive been waiting 32 years for this and i am starting to get fed up with no actraiser 3. 

and who do i blame for this? i actually blame nintendo. they should have enough sense to go to square enix and say, hey, our fans want an actraiser 3. and we will even fund it. and we will even help you make one because our fans want this and its something different than all the other slop that gets pumped out day in and day out in the industry.

is it that hard to make an actraiser 3? this is all you do: you make it a 3D platforming adventure, but can still have linear levels, similar to mario 3D world or kirby and the forgotten land. you have linear levels in a 3D space, focusing on platforming. hops (thats always what i called the character because thats the noise he makes when he swings his sword) should have wings like in actraiser 2 because it vastly enhances the platforming. There should also be a focus on combat, maybe combos or whatever other bullshit you want to put in it. also get creative with the magic spells. and of course at the end, you get to fight a crazy ass demon boss. hire your best artists who know what the fuck theyre doing for this because this is crucial. if the bosses are not the coolest thing we have ever seen, then this is a fail. they dont make cool bosses anymore, this is an opportunity to bring that magic back to gaming. 

lastly, of course retain city building and incorporate any cool new ideas you may want to have fun with here. also, retain the cloud shit and the way you go from land to land, that could still work just fine and itll make the game still feel familiar. 

honestly, this isnt that hard to do. and it wouldnt even cost that much money. you dont need some ridiculous over the top story, voice acting, motion capture, or any of that bullshit. just make a solid video game that is fun to play and is loaded with secrets, cool bosses, and great visuals. its not that hard. all you need is a thought in your head and you can put a game like this together with no problem. if i were nintendo id just buy the IP from these clowns and make the game myself. 

I feel ya, here I am still waiting for that Urban Champions sequel.

you know what? why the fuck not? they should. and it doesnt have to be some lame afterthought type of game where they barely put any effort or resources into it. they can actually make a fairly deep game with some rpg elements, turn it into an adventure, and have some fights throughout. i think that would generate interest if they made it compelling, new, yet faithful to the original. again i ask, why the hell not?

After Actraiser 2 and the ugly remake, I dont care anymore. I will just keep playing the great original.
