Persona 6 is looking to be console exclusive for now and I suspect Final Fantasy VII Revelations and Kingdom Hearts IV will still see a strong majority of their sales on Playstation. Add in all the other titles that will perform decently ranging from Wolverine, Phantom Blade, GTA, God of War etc I think it will hold this new baseline for a while.
There was concern that Switch 2 would completely absorb it's sales once it started getting third party support but I don't think that will happen in the end.

This year holiday sales will probably tell us.
It will be a considerable feat Falling a short of its predecessor for just 600k, PS4 was way more affordable.
Even if they "rush" to release ps6, isn't it going to cost almost 4 digits?

The 4 digit PS6 console won't have any effect on PS5 sales in Japan, no matter when it releases. I think it will be DOA. The new PS handheld though... that's another story.
If Sony is smart, they will copy Xbox's disc-to-digital method and allow players to transfer their games back and fourth between the PS5 and the handheld, which would work out quite nicely for them, actually.
