Ok, if AI isn't going away completely, and there are apparently good uses for AI, then we need regulation to keep AI from fucking up the world further than it already was before AI.

I believe that AI should be kept out of art, animation, music, screenwriting, literature, education, news, toys, photography, advertising, law enforcement and military.

What I believe are acceptable uses of AI are monitoring ocean health, small computations, alerting home owners to possible intruders, detecting illness, and alerting us to emergencies.

Well, those are my thoughts, I'm trying to come up with compromises, if there's anything wrong with what I said lemme know.

You are mixing moral reasons (like military and police work) with aesthetic reasons (art, literature, film) for not wanting AI anywhere. When AI is done to write a story for example, it becomes stale and without any taste whatsoever. The same thing happens with film. So, there really isn't a problem there. A combo of market forces and tastes of the audience will dictate how much AI is in our various arts.

For warfare, you could say that it is already being done. Drones are given a general area to cover and know what a tank, artillery piece, etc looks like. It's not fully autonomous yet at all. Police has long used software to predict where crime will happen, and i'm sure that the FBI uses it to predict things like where a serial killer will strike next. I see police and military use as a "small sin", where if it is wrong then there are much larger wrongs such as the various currently recognized war crimes.

Lastly, i understand your pain and also see many problems with the coming of the A.I. age. It won't be all positive by any means, but I also think that avoiding this will make america fall behind China and the rest of the world. It will make America laughed at because we can't get with the program. We have to move forward but do so in a responsible manner, kind of like how you are starting to see some wortrh in the middle ground in this issue.
