Forums - Nintendo - is the Switch 2 screen changing or not?

So Nintendo is changing the design of some of their devices so as to have a removable battery in Europe as the EU has ordered the change. This includes the Switch 2. I've heard some chatter that they might also change the screen which has gotten some negative reviews. But considering this new release from Nintendo and this quote, it sounds like nothing aside from the battery is changing correct?

"There is no difference in functionality between current products and revised products containing user-replaceable batteries."

I only ask because I don't know if I should wait to see if Nintendo updates the Switch 2 screen or if I should buy now before the price goes up next month.

I think the quoted language is pretty clear.

The new screen info seems credible but it's not coming with that model. The revision that's using it probably isn't coming for a while yet.

The screen is changing, just not necessarily attached to that revision.

But also semantics wise a new screen doesn't have new functionality. Fir example some of the battery replacement hold slightly less charge or weight different (Nintendo listed in full on their site) but none of that counts as "new functionality"

I would wait a little while, I didn't think I would notice the screen thing but the Ghosting was immediately visible to me and actually makes me not enjoy handheld mode as much

At least a year right?

Really we don't have any way of knowing, and there's not even rumours of when it could happen.

I would say it's likely that it is after Feb 2027 though as they wouldn't have redesigned the current switch 2 with a removable battery if they could just launch this instead.

Considering it's the same size and still LCD it seems it's going to be like a Switch V2. Probably better battery life and a screen with less ghosting but other than that the same as the current model.

Also worth noting that by the time it comes out the Switch 2 could have risen in price significantly. So waiting wouldn't necessarily get you a better product for the same price.
