Forums - Gaming - the differences according to ign. ps3 and 360 versions of gta4

No, just rumours. But they have just as much credibility (or lack thereof) as the ones that claim to know what the 360's exclusive content is. I suppose that all these places would be tossing the PS3 a big bone in the 'differences' section if it were true, though.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Any word yet on the supposed split-screen multiplayer on the PS3? The only thing that would make my decision difficult...

I just answered you in the other thread lol.

The PS3 doesnt have it.

as far as i know the 360 doesnt have it either.

starcraft, again, read my posts. did you read the date on that link? first of all the article is from July 26th 2007! alittle out dated considering the DLC, a year later still has not been even started in development?! next, a quote like "But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose," does not sound very credible considering there is are no names or sources. finally, it says the games are IDENTICAL. we have heard from numerous reviews that the ps3 version looks better, loads faster and has less frame issues. does this source still look credible to anyone?

also in dan housers interview with IGN he states. "The game that you buy on the disc is the game. The extra stuff doesn't exist yet, but it exists in our heads... It's cool stuff. It doesn't undermine the individual game." does that sound like the ps3 version doesnt have the complete game in it?

as you said, pwned

These arguments are inane. Yes, it's apparent that the PS3 version runs a little better. We all know that the DLC will be a great options for 360 owners when it releases.

Who cares? Buy it for what system you own and move on. It was a tough decision for me but I ended up going with the 360 version last night. The DLC is hard to ignore and all my RL friends own 360s so I want to play with them. That's my personal choice. Big deal. Others (like ckmlb) ended up going for the PS3 version.

They're both great. Just go play the game and stop this worthless bickering.

Actually. Here is the link, you only referenced a link to the link:

http://www.gamesradar.com/ps3/grand-theft-auto-iv/news/no-exclusives-for-ps3-gta-iv/a-20070725111542242077/g-20060313153735796095

There IS actually a name to go with it. IT is ROCKSTAR GAMES SPOKESPERSON Rosi Simon.

As for the differences?  IGN saw fit to give the games an identical score, even though they said they rated them according to their competition (eachother).

And since you brought up the Dan Houser interview, lets get some more quotes from the SAME INTERVIEW shall we?

"I think the mission packs with the episodes are going to be pretty deep, offering another full-on adventure in this world,"

"I never want people feeling that we've duped them in any way, shape or form. That's something that we've been into from the beginning."

Admit it, that hurt a little huh?

Considering the 360 GTA4 does not even come with online play out of the box i think Sony wins this hands down.
Huh? What planet are you living on? Is there a link you can provide to back this claim up, because the review said nothing about this.

Because you have to pay for it? People are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for the system warz these days.

It is sometimes a bit hard to tell with Griffin, but I THINK he is trying to laugh at the fact that Xbox Live costs money.

By his logic, you could say that neither game comes with a 'good' online experience out of the box

I had a feeling that might have been it but I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. I thought no one could be that stupid to use an argument as weak as that.

il be buying this for the ps3, its obviously the superior version.

psn will also have dl content, just not the ones 360 has exclusive rights to, but i feel even better will be the upcoming home intergration. some people are moaning as usual regarding this being a multiplatform game and that ps3 is supposed to be light years ahead blah blah blah. well what if this game was made only on ps3 utilising the bluray? they had to make a game that will fit on a dvd, so i feel in a way this is a lesser of a game that it possibly could have been because its multiplatform. bluray>dvd

so my sum up will be for the ps3 version:

  • better grafix Graphics are the same, only more framedrops on 360 (I agree that that's an issue, but it doesn't chance the graphics)
  • better load times Probably, but we don't know the difference if it's installed on 360
  • better controller for gta I'm not even going to react to such nonesense
  • will have dl content soon It is obvious that 360 DLC will be much and much bigger. Microsoft could have made 2 good games out of the money they paid R*, 360 DLC will be very significant.
  • gta4 mini games work well with sixaxis motion support, ie bowling What happened to mini-games suck/motion control is a fad?
  • home integration Do you have Home? XBL achievements are already there, not somewhere in the future
  • free online play Good thing

SOLD!

Since I own neither, I think I can say I'm unbiased towards either, and as you can see I don't agree with most of what you say.
I think if you're a big fan of GTA and you have both consoles you have to decide what's more important. Framerate or extra content. As someone who doesn't care too much about graphics I'd take the extra content any time. (since both versions get great reviews I figure the framerate issues aren't too severe.

hey bengabenga: no worries:) your right. just get the version you want thats all that matters. im just having a bit of a laugh thats all
