I sure did as well, lol.
Argentina didn't deserve to be even close to the finals.

Football won today I'm glad. Not sure how I feel about the expansion, with more teams you are bringing weaker competition that's only good for inflating the mid range teams' records (like Mexico) and set up a laughably easy road to the semi final (or even final) for a team that ended up being a joke. And I hear they want to expand to 64 teams? Fuck

64 makes more sense than 48.
We go back to only 1st and 2nd teams moving up from stages, no 1st vs 3rd for some teams anymore, there are still only 8 matches to the finals.
32 was a good number, but if it will be over it, 64 is a better pick.
Yeah, with 64 you get at least a proper tournament system so I prefer it to 48. It would only increase number of matches from 104 to 128, not impossible number.
But I'd rather go back to 32.

For what it's worth, I actually did find the whole 3rd team going through a pretty interesting dynamic. After South Africa beat South Korea, see and analyzing their chances after every subsequent game was fun. They had a chance to get through if certain games went their way, but they didn't and ultimately got knocked.
64 is cleaner. But I'll miss this very unique aspect to 48 teams.
