I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

Welcome to your new Wii Fit overlords!

Stylin' and sassy!

...

Anywho... yeah, I'm pretty excited for this game* (buzz word!). I definitely need incentive to keep fit, and what better way than keeping fit by playing* (Ba Zing!) Wii Fit?

*notice: Wii Fit is not actually a game, nor do you "play" it. It is purely the end of teh hardcore gaming as we know it.

90 X 60 X 24 = 129 600 , forgive me if my calculations are wrong but if they are right are Woolworths trying to say they're selling 130K of Wii-Fit a day ?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: Hell no. If you read the PR, it doesn't state for how many minutes it sold at that rate. For all we know it could have been for only the first minute.

Well woolworths does sell online too , Assuming it is just for opening hours ( assuming it's at least 7 hours) that's (90X60)X7 , they're selling 37800-42000 copies of Wii Fit in store , without onlline.

hmm..

I will get it eventually.

My wife just sent me a message to say she's queing up for it now and that the queue is really long.

Is she at Woolsworth?

WiiFit was expected from the beggining to be a major success, at least, people who know how easy and accesible games like this are marketed and ultimately how fun they are. Regardless of some people hating on the "non" games (they still ARE videogames regardless of that term that's used ever so frequently lately), the fact of the matter is that WiiFit, WiiSports, and one of the first "non-games" to be marketed in the Nintendo DS and Wii era, Brain Age, are still a heck of a lot of fun.

It all comes down to the marketing to actually reach out to those people that have no understanding of videogames though. In the end, this market expansion is good; In a few years from now we can expect  the Videogame Industry to be considered as big and as well respected as any other Industry in the entertaiment business.

It doesn't matter if us 'gamers' want WiiFit or not, the people that are most interested is the casual gaming people. The same people that have fun playing WiiSports. And of course, I am interested in the title and WILL be getting come launch day here in the Americas, and the same type of success can be expected over here too I would think. So good for them.
