I play whatever I’m in the mood for. I often times will force myself to play modern games just because (a.)
otherwise I’ll completely lose interest in keeping up with modern gaming, (b.) retro is just too good, and (c.) I don’t want to play every great game from the past… I’d rather spread it out. I still have yet to play classics such as Zelda OoT, FFVII, really any 3D Sonic, Spyro, Halo, and so much more. I haven’t even scratched the surface of Nintendo… let alone Sony, Capcom, Ubi, Activision, Sega, etc.

I still have all of my old consoles, but none of them are plugged into a tv. I do play plenty of retro games, currently playing through Paper Mario on the switch 2 expansion online.

Absolutely! I primarily emulate these days with filters to try to get as accurate an experience as possible. I’ve lately even been getting into Windows emulation to be able to play my PC gaming collection. Got Windows 98 setup and I’ve been able to play so many games I haven’t touched in decades.

I still have my PS1, N64, Dreamcast, and OG Xbox that I occasionally setup. It’s great using Insignia on my Xbox to be able to play on the original Xbox Live like it’s 2004 again!

I still have my PS2 collection of games, but don’t currently have a PS2. Broke down years ago. I’ll eventually get a replacement. Same with my 360.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

90/10 retro. I own all the systems, most of the biggest games and most important of all... a CRT. At the risk of coming off as an elitist (I'm not; trust me), this last is vital. Emulation is nice to demo whether or not you want to haul out the big bucks, but how they look and play couldn't be further from how they originally looked and played. So if you want to do it right, you have to do it as we did it back in the day. Anything else is strictly playing dress-up.

Yeah i frequently play classic games. Specially Snes games.

I play retro games more than modern ones. I still own all the Nintendo consoles from SNES onwards. Outside of that, I'll play either via NSO on the Switch 2, emulators on my laptop, or buying them if they're available on modern systems, Steam, GOG etc.

System from 2006 and before I own:

Master System
Mega Drive

Nintendo 64
Game Cube
Wii
Gameboy Advance

Playstation
Playstation 2
Playstation 3
Playstation Portable

Xbox 360

I'm hardly playing older systems nowdays, but I did play some PSP last year. It has been a while since last played my PS3 and I just got a Xbox 360 tho.

And yes, those are 20 years old, they are retro consoles by now.

There are good emulators out there. I'm a fan of the Mister and Analogue clones. There's definitely bad emulators out there though. And people who play older games in 16:9 are barbarians lol.

Switch 2 is the last modern console I bought and will be my last. I'm phasing myself out of modern gaming. I have a stack of 13 PS2 games I bought in the past couple weeks and they given me more joy than most games released now could offer.
