This represents my view and opinion of the key game battles between 360 and PS3 for 2008. I have tried to put the games side-by-side based on genre, timing, key demographic. Of course not all of them are a perfect match but I tried.

I judged the winner on many factors: sales, public acclaim, current previews, innovation, potential.

I don't really see how you can compare the two though as the ps3 lineup is set to destroy anything in it's path :P

Good work, but i think your comparing totally different games. Like Lost Odyssey and GT5P.

Fable 2 and Resistence 2?

Ninja Gaiden 2 and MGS4?

I think the big games there will ofcourse win like MGS4 and Gears 2, but i don't think there is any clear loser. Ninja Gaiden 2 will do well but it won't outsell MGS4, that's abit unfair on poor Ryu!

Yea, where it doesnt match genre, it usually matches release date.

Fable 2 will not be able to beat R2 ... common , I hope that was a joke . Saleswise Fable 2 will push lifetime max 2.5 million , while R2 will probably pass that number this year .

Same with 2Human and Haze . The first is unprooved , while the second even if its not big its a PS3 exclusive shooter , and it will sell in the US ...

Wow, I jsut realized sony has 4 exclusive shooters coming...

Anywho, how anout Splinter Cell conviction for 360. that would stack up against a game like socom quite favorably.

Valkyrie Chronicles bombed in Japan (see 1st day sales of Y-Koron) and you forgot Splinter Cell.
And have you seen the new footage of Infinite Undiscovery? Stunning!

On the other hand Eight Days isn't on the PS3 list which looks to become an awesome game (but maybe it's not 2008) and MGS is the biggest game of all the listed games.

AHahah ok then I might change it to Splinter Cell Conviction v SOCOM and Halo Wars v Tekken 6

Edit: Hmm but remember, many factors go in, and alot of people will buy into the Halo franchise again.
