Forums - Gaming - Resident Evil Requiem thread - Out now on Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

Where are you playing?

Switch 2 11 39.29%

PS5 7 25.00%

Xbox Series 1 3.57%

PC 8 28.57%

Total:27

With the game out now in some regions and worldwide in a matter of hours, I felt like having an official thread to discuss it as we play might be a good idea.

I'm about an hour into it myself and having a great time so far. Will update once I get further, but very pleased so far.

Not a massive fan of horror survival, but I am very happy for all who are! Second highest reviewed release of 2026 so far, sitting only slightly behind Mewgenics— sounds like a blast. Hope you all are enjoying it.

I play on PS5 (Pro)

Very excited for the game though decided not to play the game now due to religion reasons(Lent). But once it is over, gonna jump to the game right away on ps5 pro. We finally have a game that take advantage of the ps5 pro since FF7 rebirth.

Excited, but need to finish Stellar Blade and I have a fishing trip coming up. I am thinking April I will go to town. I am grabbing the PC version. I am thinking at 1440p with a mostly high settings I can run path tracing at 80 fps (give or take).

I bought it on Switch 2 because that 3 game bundle is too good a deal to pass up on and played a quick 15 minutes this morning before work. I'll admit I was a bit scared I'd be regretting not going for the PS5 version but the game looks amazing on Switch 2.

Signature goes here!

Played through the first few chapters now; it really does a good job of blending the horror-action of something like RE4 with the slow-burn creepiness of RE7.

The mansion-like setting is a nice throwback to the classics, while the action when it does occur is punchy and satisfying. Story so far is classic RE; ridiculous but enjoyable in a B-movie kinda way. The whole "zombies retain traits/behaviours of their human life" thing is well done as well.

I'm playing in third person for both Leon and Grace as I plan to play Village next (in first person) so want to make them feel different.

Raccoon City

This place has such an incredible atmosphere of a world lost to time, the sense of desolation is brilliant. In fact, the game as a whole is just incredible, from the punchy satisfying combat to the phenomenal presentation.

It's genuinely scary too, both in terms of creeping unease and moments to sheer terror.

How's everyone else going with it? How far through are you, what are your impressions so far?

Won't delve into spoilers but RE9 felt like the most confident entry since forever. The remakes of 2 and 4 were great but they were standing on the shoulders of all time classics. I am not the biggest fan of 7, while 8 was great if a bit derivative.

So 9 coming in with both horror and action sections, with its own identity, that hit the target 99% of the time along with callbacks that do not feel overly fanservice-y was such a nice outcome.

Finished it earlier this week and already planning my next playthroughs.

I just caved and bought the generations pack for Switch 2. Have played 7 and 8 on Series S before, but it's good value. Looking forward to playing Requiem!
