Congrats! Enjoy the system.

But the batteries are the best part! If the inserted batteries are empty, you just take them out and insert a full set of batteries (preferable rechargeble ones).
After a few seconds, you can continue your wireless gaming session.
With Dualshocks or Dualsenses you have to play with a connected cable the next hour.
Congrats. It's a decent system that unfortunately doesn't have a lot of NEW exclusives. But with the backwards compatibility and the ability to get dev mode (which allows emulators to be installed), I've used my Series X way more than my PS5. I'm actually playing through Lost Odyssey for the first time right now.
Game pass used to be great, but not as great anymore with the constant price increases.
And if you're looking for a good list of BC games:

Really can't agree with you lol
I got 4 rechargable batteries, but charging my controller in the console while I'm not playing is way more comfortable, it's always fully charged the next time I pick it up.

"While I'm not playing"... so when the battery in your DualSense is empty, you stop playing for a few hours?

No, I have like 7 Dualsenses, I don't have to stop playing if I don't want to, at all.
But it lasts like 7 hours, if I stay playing for that long in one go I get really tired and it's a good time to give it a break, regardless if it's on the PS5 or the Switch were the Pro Controller lasts for days.
I don't remember ever needing to just stop playing when I didn't want to.
