Yeah the "RE5 is racist" thing was always idiotic, it takes place in Africa, of course most of the zombies look African, just like the RE4 bad guys were European cos it takes place in Europe. Some people just constantly look for things to claim offense over cos it gives them that dopamine rush of moral outrage and gets them a free pass to behave like a bully towards anyone who disagrees.

Funny thing is I played and enjoyed RE5 back in the day, it wasnt until today I heard it was racist.  I did laugh when I found out the game is "problematic."  

Yeah, I mean do you want to be included or not? Why would an African zombie outbreak result in white zombies, it doesn't make any sense.

I mean Emiru a streamer got asked by one of her viewers 'What do you think about Ice' and her reply was in the line of 'You ask a streamer like me who doesn't care about politics this kind of question? I even have no idea what is going on' the fact that she didn't condemn ICE made the internet mad and they are trying to cancel to her.

Anyway any Choice you makes have consequences, what console do you play, Do you have a Link avatar you will be seen as an introvert who needs games for escapism the heroism in the games can let you forget the real world and from a political standpoint you prefer a Monarchy or love colonial undertones (like OoT)

If I made politics a part of all things, I would lose my mind.  At some point I need to disconnect and just enjoy, which is the point of gaming (IMO).  Plus, some people don't understand, games are usually just game... not social commentary.  

I wonder how sure we can be of that ... not really a question but unless you are browsing videos autonomously can you be sure that the algorithm isn't just feeding you what you engage with?  Are you sure you are getting a solid sample of all the videos out there?  This site is about as social media as I get so I am pretty ignorant about what content Tik-Tok, Instagram, Facebook, ect tosses at it's users.  I suppose about the only thing I use a bit that feeds you stuff would be YouTube and I can see a content bias in what it throws up next for me to watch in short form videos. Makes me feel like I am being manipulated.

I'm with some of the others.  End of the day most of us are essentially random strangers so it should not be too difficult to take the good and just leave the bad.  Pretend all the bad vibes are coming from bots or some such.  I hate to think that we as a community have negatively impacted the enjoyment of something that is supposed to be a FUN pastime.  I like you as a user but don't stick around if we are dragging you down.  I hope you can take the first bit of advice and not resort to the second ... again, I like ya but you have to do what is best for you.

It blows my mind how upset people are on this site with the latest SoP. Genuinely one of the best video games presentations I’ve ever watched— even most of the internet appears to agree that this was an A/(B+)-tier presentation.

Yet another instance of the internet emphasizing negativity— also, that 2D GoW games. People dismissing it based on looks when the game is literally playable right now! Yet all people wanna do is complain. Yikes! I know where I’ll be after the next Nintendo Direct: anywhere but here lol.

I can completely relate. People online are never happy with anything so for me personally I try my best to ignore those people. I think valid criticism is important and good for discussions but in a sea of haters I don't give those people any air to breath. For example I'm a big Star Wars fan and I'd rather not even interact with that fanbase because it's a complete cesspool of adult babies crying and screaming at each other. I'm not completely there with gaming but for the most part I choose where to interact wisely and very limited, don't take influencers or random person on twitter seriously and discuss games with people in-person face to face or with friends that I know.

I always find it funny when people complain about an old game getting a re-release. I personally love to have an old game come back to give me an excuse to play it, find a new and younger audience or for me to rediscover a game I've never played. People/gamers online have this weird sense that if something wasn't for them then everything is crap. I just feel there are a lot of people online that just don't like games and just want to complain about everything until the 1 game from a sea of 1000s they are looking for is announced

Yep, people who make politics their whole personality are inevitably miserable as they fixate on problems and negativity rather than having a more balanced or optimistic view of life, and misery loves company, so they try to drag down everyone else into the muck with them.
