Their Halifax and Stockholm studios have been shuttered, while Abi Dhabi, Redlynx, and Massive have been "restructured" which is usually shorthand for layoffs.

The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake is among the 6 games cancelled.

Ubisoft is honestly the worst AAA publisher. They're the most guilty of chasing whatever the latest trend, or attempt at a trend (cough NFTs) is, and they dive in headfirst

I was going to say it’s difficult to decide whether Ubisoft is worse than Activision, but then I remembered that I have absolutely no faith in anything developed by Ubisoft (e.g. Rayman), whereas Activision still piques my interest every so often (e.g. Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Tony Hawk, Skylanders).

Ubi might just be the only game dev I never have any excitement for… with the exception of Mario+Rabbids, though that’s mostly because Nintendo co-develops.

Of the most recent Ubisoft games that were legit good was Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Ubisoft rewards the team by disbanding them and cancelling a sequel.

Even with Ubisoft's tentpole franchises like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, they still follow modern gaming traditions of always-online requirements and microtransactions. Things that don't belong in single-player games. Even The Lost Crown had an always-online requirement.

Shitty, but not surprising.

Imagine finding out via the news that you've lost your job.

That's a damn shame. I was looking forward to the Prince of Persia Sands of Time remake.

I haven't bought a Ubi game since Rayman 2D, can't recall the name, been that long.

1) they copy/paste their games, feels like the same game over and over

2) the force their launcher when steam doesn't need it. I almost bought their 2D PoP a few years ago until I realized I needed some Ubi play now account BS.

“Consoles are great… if you like paying extra for features PCs had in 2005.”

Ubisoft's stock value has dropped by an eye-watering 36% today, following the restructuring plan. This places Ubisoft's stock price now 95% lower than its high in 2020. Dang! That's no good.
