Forza Horizon 6 or Fable since Playground Games has an excellent track record when it comes to making great games.

Thanks for these suggestions. I’m looking for games you’ve experienced firsthand. Any titles from 2026 that you’ve played and loved worthy of GotY consideration?

I figured I'd get this up early, even though I expect not a lot of folks have played a GOTY contender 18 days into the new year

I already have a strong contender: Resident Evil Requiem. Anything else that comes out this year would have to be really amazing to top it, and I don't see that happening.

@bold For you, or in general? Cause, beside being plenty of potential games that can do it this year, there's this behemoth in the room launching November 19th that will probably win most of official GOTY awards.

Not if the behemoth releasing on March 19th has anything to say about that… or if 3D Mario drops. Though I don’t think a 3D platformer could ever top something like Crimson Desert nor GTAVI.

Resident Evil Requiem.

IMO, GTA is simply way too big for anyone to be a real contender - even if it turns out not as good as it should be, gaming "journalism" is way too corrupt for it not to sweep the awards floor.
