So ... no Xbox love ? No one plays on the Series ?

My youngest uses it sometimes to play Roblox with his friend when he comes over. (2 TVs, 1 on PS5, other on Series X) Otherwise he always plays on PC.

The thing has not been used by me since I played Forza 7 on it. In fact it hasn't run a single current gen game :/ Bought it to play Halo Infinite couch co-op ugh. I already played the game on PC, same as FH5. There's really no point in having an XBox anymore.

I guess I could sell it, slightly used Series X Halo Infinite edition. Probably worth more now than I payed for it...

It makes you think that a PC from 2007 can still be considered current gen and run many modern games although not the most demanding of course. Around 2007 you got a passmark cpu score of 1500 (core2duo) and gflops around 300 for GPUs. That is still a higher level of performance than many entry level dual core Celeron laptops today. I have a Celeron laptop that I carry about it has a passmark cpu score of around 2000 but mine is quad core the dual core version is around 1200 and the GPU is around 120 gflops. In fact if you used the weakest laptop available today new and compare it to a desktop pc of the past you might be about to go back to maybe 2002-2003 for a comparable spec. Of course that would have been a state of the art desktop pc of the time. PC games have spanned a long time. My crappy Celeron laptop can play up to games like Skyrim with low settings and I got Fallout 4 to work as a novelty with special potato graphics mods.

I have a Core 2 Quad PC from 2007.
I am in the process of swapping out the motherboard so I can upgrade the Ram to 16GB.

You would be surprised how many modern games it can handle even with 8GB of system Ram and a 20 year old CPU. - Granted, not at 60fps.

Ironically the games that don't work are the ones that need specific and more modern SIMD instructions, which I *can* emulate, but it makes a big impact to performance.

Games like Fallout 4 is not even an issue for it... And I can even run Black Myth Wukong and Oblvion Remastered (Heavily modded).

What has been a game changer for that PC though is actually frame gen... Games that were struggling at 20-30fps can now do 60fps... I would like to see the Xbox 360/Playstation 3 do that,

I have a Phenom 2 x6 PC as well... And even though it's more performant than the Core 2 CPU's, it suffers from the same instruction compatibility issues, so I will likely get an AMD FX 8370 for that PC so I can run games like Battlefield 6 and Hogwarts Legacy on it.

I only have the PC as "current" gen, this is the first console generation since the NES that I don't own any consoles at all.

PS5 is all I need. It also serves as my hub for streaming services and whatnot.

Polls where you can tick off multiple items would be useful!

Simple tally so far

Switch: 26 (40%)
PS5: 20 (31%)
Gaming PC: 16 (24%)
XBox Series: 3 (5%)

I thought PC and PS5 would be reversed, Switch and XBox Series are no surprise.

Seeing no votes for “PS5 & XBSXS” demonstrates precisely what the issue has been with Xbox these past couple of gens: Lack of console exclusives. I mean, why would anybody own a PS5 and an XBSXS? Let alone split their game time mainly between the two systems. Everything that Xbox has to offer is already available on PS5, besides little things like being able to transfer save data to PC.

Xbox series X (for everything) and Switch 2 (for Mario Kart and Party with the kids)

Ps5 for conan exiles and playing mass effect trilogie, however i most of the time play on ps1/2/3 xbox and ps4

Switch 2, Rog Ally Z1e, and PC mostly.

My PS5 Pro I'll turn on every once in a while, mainly to play PSVR2 games, but given how few exclusives there are I don't think I'll be getting a PS6.

My Series X literally collects dust, and I very much regret buying it, especially now that I cancelled my Game Pass subscription.

Both systems are mostly used as Blu Ray players. Personally I think Sony and Microsoft should just build PC SKUs at this point. They can still have their OS and closed-platform optimizations, but should allow you to install other Operating Systems if you want.
