Metroid Dread switch 2 edition at 4k/120fps.

What would Retro even have to do with Dread? They never had anything to do with it. Mercury Steam made it.

Bluepoint didn't make demon souls yet made an updated ps5 version.  Blooper didn't make SH2 and yet...

Nintendo bought port studios you know.

I did know.  Do you have a point other than constantly playing Mr. Grumpy?

It would depend on how many of the original Metroid Prime staff members are left. I would assume very little, given how poor MP4 turned out, but I genuinely don't know. If it's like Rare and Bungie, where its best talent have long since left the building, I don't see much use for them. Nintendo would have to get involved to such a degree, that it would make using Retro rather pointless. If, however, there's still a large amount of the original talent there, and MP4 was just a rare air-ball, I suppose MP5 would be worth a shot. Or how about a proper Star Fox or F-freakin'-Zero? I love both of those franchises, and we haven't had great 3D versions of them since N64 and Gamecube.

Probably not a Retro requirement, but in addition to F-Zero and Star Fox...  Wave Race and Pilot Wings?  Punch-Out?  There are a few Nintendo franchises I would love resurrected.

Honestly, I trust wherever Nintendo is thinking they should go. Prime 5 would be good, but ONLY if things work out. Retro Studios has been in a bit of a rut for nearly 12y— I honestly can’t say I’m eagerly anticipating their next release.

That would be a waste of a talented developer. Anyone could make an upgrade of an old game.

Also, I think 4k/120fps for Dread is not reasonable on Switch 2. Switch 1 version is 900p/60fps with some elements running at 30fps (elevator sparks, some lava animations...). Seeing how other Switch 2 editions or Switch 2 upgrades run, it would be either 1080/1440p and 120fps or just straight 4K/60fps.

1440p at 120 fps would be nice.  I figure, perhaps wrongly, if prime 4 is 1080 at 120 fps, no reason dread (being 2d) can't be 1080+ at 120 fps.

I think 1440p/120fps is definitely possible. But seeing how Nintendo has approached its Switch 2 upgrades (free and paid), they don't seem to care too much about high framerates (as in, more than 60). If there is a Dread upgrade, it will likely be a 4k (or close to that) and 60fps docked and 1080p/60fps handheld.
