The hardware and user experience is great and good BC options. It's just the people in charge are inept morons and assholes.
Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

It's not a bad console as much as it is irrelevant right now.
There is no banger exclusive that makes me go... I gotta get an Xbox now. to me, owning a PC is 10 times better considering all MS games are going on both day one.
The hardware itself is good.
The OS and Controller aren't as good as the PS5's imo.
(I don't own one, only tried it at friends house)
*edit:
I don't think you can blame the bad sales on the hardware itself.
Ei. newer, stronger hardware won't fix anything, because the issues xbox is having aren't from its hardware.
| Kyuu said: Series X is an excellent console as far as capability and game library (this generation is easily superior to the last two imo), but it's super redundant because the alternatives are clearly better. Going full 3rd party and increasing prices effectively killed it. Their weak-ish first party games since Xbox One contributed to the decline too, but Microsoft can remedy this weakness by making COD and the likes exclusive (thus breaking these IP's association with more popular platforms). But they won't, because it's too "high risk, low reward" for them. Having said that, if you only have an Xbox Series X this generation, you should still have a great time, and you would still miss out on too many awesome games due to money, time, and knowledge constraints. |
They are legally bound to not do so for atleast 10+ years, after the merger.
Also, they spent like 700$ million on making BO7... and the majority of their player base, is on Playstation.
Imagine the next Call of Duty game, was Xbox only.
Then they are in breach of a contract, and face legal issues.
They still spend like ~700m on the game, but now, because of the loss of Playstation users, they barely break even on the game.
Investors will question why they spent $69-76bn, getting ABK.
It doesn't make sense to do so.
Hardware is fine, there's just no reason to buy one, especially after the price rises.
PS5 is cheaper and gets Sony games so if you want the streamlined console experience you go for that.
PC gets all the games Xbox does, gets day one gamepass much cheaper, is way more flexible and gets some/most Sony games eventually too.
From MS directly, Gamepass PC is £114 less per year than Ultimate. So even if you spend a little more on the hardware, if you want day one gamepass games you'll make that money back fast.
LOL no, not even close.
Xbox consoles were always better when it comes to design and features. Ofc its not even worth compering online features because XBOX is light years ahead of PS and 3 Light years from Nintendo.
Its their management and complete lack of long term vision of what XBOX should be. They change their opinions every Monday. This is why Both PS and Nintendo thrives while XBOX is practically dead console.

It's not 2007 anymore. What online features do Xbox have that PS do not?

Its not what features Xbox have that PS dont.
Its how they are used.
Xbox Store UI is much better and smoother then PS, its much easier to find what you want. On PS i need to go through 5 different screens to renew Plus while on XBOX is just one click and confirm. Not to mention the fact that once you click download you cant refund the game even if you didnt even start it.
PS still have a lot of work to catch up to XBOX
The console is fine imo
It's the games that are lackluster. Yes, Xbox studios output has improved significantly, but the quality hasn't improved that much and there is still no Xbox game since like Halo 3 that is a must own or a system seller.
