I was hounded for eight years by my Switch backlog. I'm determined not to let that happen with Switch 2.

(I have poured far too much time into polishing this OP lol.) Okay… I think everything is good now. The image isn’t as grainy nor low res (except for the key…which really irks me TBH), and I’ve got every major release listed on the Wikipedia page. There shouldn’t be anything missing now, but if I did something skip something, please let me know.

Hollow Knight [NS2 Edition] & Silksong [DLC] have been added to “TBA 2026”.

For my sanity: This list will be updated exactly one time per month (precisely, on the last day of the month) unless there is a Nintendo Direct or another major presentation (e.g. Pokémon Presents, Xbox Games Presentation, SGFest, or TGAwards), in which case the list will be updated within 24hr of the presentations premiere. So, any further changes from here on will not be edited into the OP until December 31st, 2025.

Animal Crossing is off the table with the Switch 2 Edition coming in January. 2028 now seems the earliest for a New Horizons successor. 

I don't think we're getting a new 2D Mario already, especially with content coming to Wonder. 3D Mario seems off the table with DK just coming out in July 2025.

It's way too soon for a new 3D Zelda. Even if for some reason Nintendo scales it down from the latest two, I see no way it launches in 2026. 

Sakurai will probably be the director of Smash again. I don't think development has started, or maybe just barely has. Smash has gotten to big to only take a year to develop, even if the next game is scaled down. 

Super Mario Maker 3 could happen in 2026, I guess. But it would probably make more sense to give it a Switch 2 Edition and save 3 for late in Switch 2's life or Switch's 2 successor. 

Tomodachi is the biggest known upcoming title by far that's a potential 10m seller.

There is a sequel to Brawl Brothers coming to Switch 2 in March. I think it's a real cart. It looks decent. Hard to be worse than the SNES original.

Any rumors on Switch 1 games that will be upgraded for the S2 in 2026? Still want a LM3 and Pikmin 4 fps and resolution bump.

No official word yet, but Pikmin 4 especially is very likely to happen as a relatively-ish recent major first party title.

LM3 I would love to see, it already looks so good, it would dazzle at 60fps and a higher resolution.

Very underwhelming lineup, both 1st and 3rd party.

No way the S2 can compete with Ps5 in 2026, especially with GTA 6 launching.

Closest thing to a rumor I can think of is Pikmin 4 accidentally being listed as “Games with Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrades” when no such NS2 Edition exists… yet. This was on the Nintendo eShop.
