PS5 Leads, NS2 Tracks Ahead of NS1 - Worldwide Hardware Estimates for November 2025

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console worldwide with 3,591,750 units sold for November 2025, according to VGChartz estimates. The PS5 has sold 86.12 million units lifetime.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was the second best-selling console, with an estimated 1,816,013 units sold, to bring lifetime sales to 12.49 million units. The Nintendo Switch 1 was the third best-selling console, with an estimated 364,544 units sold, to bring lifetime sales to 152.72 million units. The Xbox Series X|S came in fourth place with 224,404 units sold, to bring its lifetime sales to 34.10 million units.

Switch 2 sales compared to the same month for the Switch 1 in 2017 are up by over 111,000 units, as the Switch 1 sold 1,704,994 units in November 2017.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2018 are up by over 607,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by nearly 1.56 million units. The PS4 sold 2,984,645 units for the month of November 2018 and Xbox One sales were at 1,780,329 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 678,148 (-15.9%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 501,814 units (-69.1%) and Nintendo Switch 1 sales are down by 1,303,392 units (-78.1%).

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by over 2.28 million units, Nintendo Switch 2 sales are up by over 390,000 units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by nearly 77,000 units, and Nintendo Switch 1 sales are up by nearly 88,000 units.

2025 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 14.09 million units, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold 12.49 million units, the Nintendo Switch 1 has sold 4.07 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 2.11 million units.

PS5 Best-Seller - Europe Hardware Estimates for November 2025

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console in Europe with 1,926,758 units sold for November 2025, according to VGChartz estimates. The PS5 has sold 30.44 million units lifetime. 

The Nintendo Switch 2 was the second best-selling console with an estimated 463,907 units sold to bring lifetime sales to 2.78 million units. The Nintendo Switch 1 was the third best-selling console with an estimated 99,006 units sold to bring lifetime sales to 39.36 million units. The Xbox Series X|S came in fourth place with 61,836 units sold to bring its lifetime sales to 8.75 million units.

Switch 2 sales compared to the same month for the Switch 1 in 2017 are up by nearly 104,000 units as the Switch 1 sold 360,192 units in Europe in November 2017.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2018 are up by over 918,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by nearly 325,000 units. PS4 sold 1,008,523 units for the month of October 2018 and Xbox One sales were at 386,603 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 27,424 (-1.40%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 102,987 units (-62.5%) and Nintendo Switch 1 sales are down by 410,148 units (-80.6%).

Looking at sales month-on-month, PlayStation 5 sales are up by over 1.30 million units, Switch 2 sales are up by nearly 149,000 units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by nearly 22,000 units, and Nintendo Switch 1 sales are up by over 35,000 units.

2025 year-to-date, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 5.70 million units, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold 2.78 million units, the Nintendo Switch 1 has sold 0.93 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 0.53 million units.

PS5 Outsells Switch 2 - Americas Hardware Estimates for November 2025

The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console in the Americas (USA, Canada, & Latin America) with 913,299 units sold for November 2025, according to VGChartz estimates. The PS5 has sold 33.01 million units lifetime.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was the second best-selling console with an estimated 586,123 units sold to bring lifetime sales to 4.24 million units. The Xbox Series X|S came in third place with 144,513 units sold to bring its lifetime sales to 20.76 million units. The Nintendo Switch was the fourth best-selling console with an estimated 99,482 units sold to bring lifetime sales to 57.53 million units.

Switch 2 sales compared to the same month for the Switch 1 in 2017 are down by over 304,000 units as the Switch 1 sold 890,593 units in the Americas in November 2017.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2018 are down by over 494,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by nearly 1.08 million units. PS4 sold 1,407,577 units for the month of November 2018 and Xbox One sales were at 1,221,964 units.

PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 577,859 (-38.8%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 357,958 units (-71.2%) and Nintendo Switch 1 sales are down by 618,198 units (-86.1%).

Looking at sales month-on-month, Nintendo Switch 2 sales are up by over 182,000 units, PlayStation 5 sales are up by nearly 654,000 units, Xbox Series X|S sales are up by nearly 55,000 units, and Nintendo Switch 1 sales are up by nearly 35,000 units.

2025 year-to-date, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold 4.24 million units, the PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 3.87 million units, the Xbox Series X|S has sold 1.36 million units, and the Nintendo Switch 1 has sold 1.26 million units.

Switch 2 Dominates as Sales Near 3M - Japan Hardware Estimates for November 2025

The Nintendo Switch 2 was the best-selling console in Japan with 416,751 units sold for November 2025, according to VGChartz estimates. The Nintendo Switch 2 has now sold an estimated 2.99 million units lifetime.

The Nintendo Switch 1 sold an estimated 111,421 units to bring its lifetime sales to 36.32 million units. The PlayStation 5 sold an estimated 86,379 units to bring its lifetime sales to 7.22 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 1,594 units to bring their lifetime sales to 0.69 million units.

Switch 2 sales compared to the same month for the Switch 1 in 2017 are up by nearly 40,000 units as the Switch 1 sold 376,779 units in Japan in November 2017.

PS5 sales compared to the same month for the PS4 in 2018 are up by nearly 5,000 units, while the Xbox Series X|S compared to the same month for the Xbox One are down by just 45 units. PS4 sold 81,536 units for the month of November 2018 and Xbox One sales were at 1,639 units.

Nintendo Switch 1 sales compared to the same month a year ago are down by 175,627 units (-61.2%). PlayStation 5 sales are down by 89,223 (-50.8%) and Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 10,898 units (-87.2%).

Looking at sales month-on-month, Nintendo Switch 2 sales are up by nearly 19,000 units, Nintendo Switch 1 sales are up by nearly 13,000 units, PlayStation 5 sales are up by over 41,000 units, and Xbox Series X|S sales are down by over 100 units.

2025 year-to-date, the Nintendo Switch 2 has sold an estimated 2.99 million units, the Nintendo Switch 1 has sold 1.26 million units, the PlayStation 5 has sold 0.75 million units, and the Xbox Series X|S has sold 0.03 million units.

This was a kinda awful first November for Switch 2 :/

Looks like the mid year launch as opposite to traditional Q3 launch really impacted its sales

Aside from PS5 in Europe, everything else is disappointing.

It seems in the US and Europe, only committed Switch 1 players care about Switch 2, so now when the enthusiasts have already bought Switch 2, there isn't a lot more people interested, and families don't care about buying a Switch 2 as well.

PS5 closing the gap to PS4 in Europe by 1 million in a single month! Oh and this is the month PS5 passed the X360 lifetime sales. Next month the PS3.
