By pretending to be third party (even making such games for years), they can push the Wii in a way that doesn't make it look as though it's just Nintendo from benefiting from the Wii. So other third parties will look at their games and try harder, since they don't have the Nintendo excuse anymore.

While we got the tin foil out, The guys who got escorted from Retro, were in fact spying for sony or M$ and leaking insider information to them. Remember how retro did not know about the wii-mote for along time. It was because Nintendo knew their were rats in the the ranks at Retro.
