I've missed the option to downvote some of the actually bad posts myself, but much less than I've enjoyed not having to worry who's going to downvote my comment not because it's bad but because the other party simply disagrees with it. |
Pretty sure my view is not going to be a popular one. I'm on the opposite side. Reading the article was half the enjoyment for me and then seeing the back and forth in the comments section with the upvotes and downvotes was the other half of the enjoyment. Since the time that down votes have been removed, I've only bothered to read maybe 5 articles since.
...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.
