Wonder is a crappy 2d Mario (that wonder effect is so off putting) and EoW is so bad that it enrages me.

this might just be the most difficult sentence I have ever read in all my life. You’re talking about games I’ve poured nearly 100hr combined into.

Around the Network

3D games often have more to them. Not always in my preferences, though. Give me Super Mario Bros. Wonder over 3D Land and 3D World.
But yeah, 3D. I've barely played Kirby games over the years but look forward to finally getting Forgotten Land once I buy it.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

Based on those five franchises, I would say...

Super Mario - 3D. I'd choose Odyssey and Bowser's Fury over Wonder. That's not a knock on Wonder; it's just that 3D Mario is on another level.
The Legend of Zelda - 3D. This is fairly easy. BotW and TotK are two of the best games ever made. Echoes of Wisdom is good, not great.
Donkey Kong - 2D. I loved my time with Bananza. Right now it's my GOTY. But Tropical Freeze (if that's truly "modern day") wins.
Metroid - 2D. This is, of course, a guess, since we don't know how MP4 will turn out. But it will be tough to top Dread.
Kirby - 3D. Kirby isn't really my favorite, 2D or 3D. But Forgotten Land tops recent 2D entries.

In general, I think that Nintendo has entered a second golden age during the Switch era, for both 2D and 3D games.
