We'll see what the long term effects are going forward but other than France, PS5 will remain very competitive with Switch 2 in Europe for quite a while including the UK. With Sony introducing a new Sku with lower storage to save some cents so as to not raise anymore prices soon they are definitely trying to stay in the running. If Nintendo has to raise prices in the next year due to tariffs it could cost them some in Europe.

PS5 will remain competitive with Switch 2 in Europe until its discontinued. Europe is PS land outside France. Switch 2 sales will rely on US/Japan, just like it was for Switch 1.

Switch 2 sales were always going to drop off because of the price. Anyone who thought otherwise was delusional to say the least.

Sony and Nintendo's forecast for console sales this FY:

PS5: 15M units.

Switch 2: 15M units.

So their forecasts regarding console sales this FY is exactly the same. The only difference is that Switch 2 will outsell PS5 in Japan while PS5 will outsell the Switch 2 in Europe. There is nothing surprising that Sony is having the advantage in Europe which is a market they have been dominant in, just like its nothing surprising that Switch 2 has the advantage in Japan.

There is a very real chance that Switch 2 is the first console since the Sega Saturn to sell more units in japan alone than the entirety of Europe. 

Edit: This is incorrect. 3DS also sold more in Japan than in the entirety of Europe.

Ok, I googled it and you're correct. Ok well, I think Switch 2 might repeat something achieved by only 3DS and Saturn. 

I expect this worldwide once GTA 6 drops. At least for awhile.

Off a cliff perhaps? 

I'm visiting Spain now and went into a CEX, no Switch 2 content at all... I imagine it's a supply issue.
