It is. They need to build or better yet... Buy a better game engine and middleware package.

Imo, what you're seeing both on the tech and art side is a lack of ambition. Technology is not the the problem, the technology simply reflects their level of disinterest in pushing the user experiences

Disinterest is not the issue; they are incompetent developers who will never improve because the fan base just keep on buying their slop. Consumers should stop reinforcing their behaviour and then they might actually build a decent 3D pokemon game.

Technology is definitely the issue. Pokemon hasn't been pushing hardware since the DS days.

Their simplistic models, lack of physics, pre-baked lighting and average shadow maps.... It's stuck in a 7th gen technology feature set, whilst making a poor attempt at parading as a 9th gen game.

So you guys think a billion dollar company that's been around for 30 years, has interest in providing a great visual and technical user experience but simply hasn't found the capacity to skill up, invest in tech/processes or hire talent over the last 15 years?? Lol.

If technology was the problem it would of been solved by now....lack of interest is the case and you've just reinforced it in your point. You're saying they don't care because they sell 20million anyway
