So we're getting Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 (plus a movie), a release date for Metroid Prime 4, the three most recent Resident Evils, including a day-and-date release of Resident Evil 9 with every other version, the FF7 Remake Trilogy, an all new Fire Emblem (not a remake of Genealogy of the Holy War as was rumored) a remake of Dragon Quest VII, plus many others.

My favorite announcements were Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest VII.

I actually clapped and laughed when they announced Virtual Boy. I really wanted to play the Wario Land on it. Too bad you need the VB thing to play them. Thats just such a weird obstacle to put in front of a system that failed. We want VB games, but we dont want to play them on an actual VB.

I think Galaxy 3 is happening unless Galaxy 3 is the movie, lol.

That was totally wild. They're bringing back the Virtual Boy whole hog.

Let's pour one out for the O.G., Gunpei Yokoi.

It's the movie. There's no Galaxy 3. Yet. Though maybe if the first two games and the movie do really well...

Not the craziest Nintendo Direct, but it was a solid 8/10 for me. I think the lack of a giant game will upset some people, but it was good for what we got.

I'm glad we got the expected Mario movie trailer, but I did not expect it to be a Galaxy movie. I'm so hyped. Galaxy 2 finally on Switch is also hype!

I'm less excited for Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition because the game is still relatively new. But it is a great game. So good on Nintendo for supporting it more.

Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment releasing in November is earlier than expected. And Metroid Prime 4 still made it this year!

Fire Emblem, Yoshi, and Mario Tennis all look solid, but they're not system sellers. This is my cue to finally play Three Houses and Engage.

DK Bananza already getting paid DLC makes me think it was held off. Not a fan of that. Even scummier is Pokémon Legends Z-A getting DLC announced before release.

Virtual Boy on NSO is a neat novelty, but I'm not sure how much I'd play.

I'm glad Resident Evil 7-9 are coming to Switch 2. That's great to have them on the go.

The biggest third party announcement for me, though, was the Dragon Quest VII remake. Totally unexpected, and it looks gorgeous.

Virtual Boy. Mario Tennis Fever is second.

I didn't add Virtual Boy to the Poll because I wasn't sure anybody would care. But it would be ironic if the Virtual Boy accessory somehow did better than the original Virtual Boy did.

Resident Evil 9 (Requiem) day 1 with the other versions is a fairly legit megaton, it was just leaked earlier which kinda took the wind out of it a bit.

Metroid Prime 4 coming this year was also kinda leaked by an ESRB rating, but if you didn't know those two things beforehand, probably would be more of a "wow!" moment.

Two things....

#1 Samus on a bike.... this will ether be the worst decision ever, or the best decision ever, there is no in-between.
#2 Kirby Air ride is getting a 2nd direct...... So im wondering, does Nintendo give Masahiro Sakurai whatever he wants? Maybe im wrong, but i always felt like kirby was a B tier game, and kirby air ride feels like it was a a grade lower than the normal kirby platforms. Nintendo sure is giving this game a lot of press time.
