Thanks in advance. |
The only other thing I think would be the Platinum games list on the first page. Those go to the person with the highest points in one of the qualifying games (popular games). It's also the most important aspect of the league for true skill

But you get no points at all for Plats. So they have no effect on the league ranking. Like I said earlier they are just ego badges. I just finally earned another one and should have a third one this week... and even with that I'm saying if anything had to go it's Plats.
I think races qualify as a test of true skill as well as weekly gamerscore.

Taking into account that every race I've participated in I've gotten first except for GTA IV which I got 2nd in (ended right after I joined the league). I still don't think the race points mean much because they go into the overall points and some people here had a bunch of points before half the people even joined so it's all skewed. If the race points were seperated from weekly gamerscore points I might agree with you but not with the way it is now.
The weekly gamerscore means absolutely nothing to me. Honestly, I could get gamefly and have every new game sent to me, be 1,2, or 3 in points each week and win the majority of the races because I'd have each new game. That doesn't take skill, it just takes access to the games.
It's easy to explain why platinums would be the best at "true skill". You are forced to beat everybody else who owns the game and you have to try to get every achievement, especially the hard ones that other people won't even try. And I don't mean the games where 10 people have 1000, I'm talking about the ones that only one person has.

I see what you are saying. I'm just saying Plats don't give any points at all, so unless that is changed they are useless. Other aspect is ANYONE can easily pull up the league page on mygamerscore and find their own games to see who is in first place. So having someone tasked with collecting all of that just to post it for others to read, who could read it themselves, is rather pointless. It's basically a system of meaningless trophies (since only races contribue points not plats) Also I see how it is somewhat a measure of true skill but I think it just depends.
For instance what if you have the most points in games that aren't tracked? Those games counted for none of your skill? See, it doesn't make any sense.
Furthermore, I applaud anyone who maxes out most games to 1000 but I'm not sure that proves overall they are better than someone who doesn't but plays three times more games because you have account for experience and with every single game that a person doesn't play while focusing solely on maxing the games they do have is a game with technically "0" points they have. So how do you balance that and say one person is better than another. In that regard you could buy an Xbox max one game... BOOM 100 percent completion rate. That doesn't mean you are more skilled (not you erikers, just you in general, I'm not doubting your skill) I don't know if that made any sense, I'm in a hurry to get back to work.
Look, overall, Plats=no points or influence on league ranking. Either we change that (which I still argue is unfair, to pick and choose games and not account for all games) or we "trim the fat" so to speak and free up time for the moderators of this fine leauge.
