Forums - Gaming - VGChartz Xbox 360 Gamerscore League

Add me to the list erikers. I'll also have an irl friend who will probably want to play online as well. We usually play Halo 3 several times a week together and Gears 2 will replace much of that time when it comes out. I'm usually on every night from about 9pm - early morning.

I will say I haven't played much Gears 1 mp but I pick up things quick and do pretty well in most other mp games.

I would call myself pretty rubbish (I did complete Gears on hardcore, but no MP), but I will be getting the game at launch, and would certainly be willing to fill the numbers if you need

For the seriously 2.0 achievement, I have read that the best way to do it is to replay the last level, apparently you can get about 100 kills in 1 minute!

Im up for it but I live and work in UK. So its only Saturdays or nights UK time for me. If NA members play late evening to early morning then it wont work for EU members because that would mean early morning to afternoon EU time.

Hence the best time to accomodate EU members is afternoon - evening for NA members and night times for EU members.

If you guys just want to form an NA team its fine though.

What I propose is we book Sat 8 Nov or Sat 15 Nov for a league get together and play some matches together.

@Machina

They are in there, all 105.

And you are 700 G away from me! :S

^^ I've completed Portal 4 times now without going through the blue portal and I still haven't unlocked that achievement yet. Grrrr...

Dumb question, are you starting the game with New Game, or skipping to the first chapter where you actually have both Portals? Because if it's the later, that may be your problem.

In The Orange Box you had to play the Entire Half-Life 2: Episode 1 game, even though the first chapter has zero guns in it that would count against the "One Free Bullet" achievement.

The optional install will also greatly help games that are very taxing on the drives which may corrupt save games or discs as I experienced with Fable 2. Looking forward to it.

I know I am paranoid, but it is a little like mass effect, and I am convinced that it is going to freeze all the time (it has a couple of times) and the box is extremely loud while playing, so I think this will probably the first game to get stuck on the HDD, though I hope to have got the 1000g for the race by the time NXE comes out....

@Machina

I think if you turn on your box without a game in and play something like an arcade game it will give you an idea of the noise while playing. This I think will vary a lot from user to user though. My first 360 was loud without a disc and even worse with one. The 2nd box was a LOT quieter. With the TV on I can't even hear the fans and the disc drive is much quieter too.

I don't think the 360 has throttling fan speeds like the PS3 but I could be wrong. I know my PS3 when it kicks into high gear is pretty loud as well even rivaling my 360. It's a 60gig so runs a little hotter than the newer ones.

 Yea I cant imagine nobody else on VGChartz experienced problems (well at least not the posts I have read). My 360 clicks the most for Fable 2 and the load times are long. The single save slot and autosaving feature is utter crap. I just hope it doesnt kill your save game.

And such a breath of fresh air Fallout 3 is - as oxymoronic as that is. The disc runs smoothly, doesnt click, and the load/save times are miniscule compared to Fable 2. Lionhead Studios should take programming 101 lessons from Bethesda, seriously.

And Fallout 3 is plain awesome. I am hooked! :) Its quite depressing though and I can see why people will be drawn more to Fable 2 due to the much lighter mood.

So which do you think is better?  Fallout 3 or Fable 2?

For me, Fable is essentially the Halo of RPG's in that it's sort of a simplified, user friendly game with nice colorful graphics.  It's fun to play and will never really get too hard for a player of any skill.  I'm going to get it eventually, probably next year but I'll play Fallout 3 before then.
