Forums - Nintendo - Why Nintendo will never die

Nintendo cleverly positioned itself as the family friendly choice. As long as new kids get born, there will be a market.

Around the Network

I debated whether to include "never" in the title, fearing it might limit responses just based on the title, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of replies regardless.

We all know nothing lasts forever, which is why we should never speak in absolutes. Nintendo's clear direction is deeply embedded in its company culture, starting with its mission statement and the other points highlighted in the OP. They consistently pursue long-term solutions and normally avoid chasing trends for quick profits.

Historically, Nintendo's hardware strategy always had a portable console to rely on. Now, they've shifted to relying solely on a hybrid approach to unify software development. They recognized the issue of increased development times when creating games for two separate consoles. Now, the release of the Switch 2 presents a significant challenge: how to follow up on a console as successful as the original Switch.
