BTB, It's been 20 days, and I have heard pretty much nothing about the sales after the successful first 4 ones. What gives? Why no more data here at VGC?

We have some preliminary and limited data for weeks 2 and 3. But won't be posting June numbers until we get the entire months worth of data. Plus, May Circana (NPD) data was delayed until July 9. So rest of May won't be posted until that day.
We shall see if Nintendo provides month one sales or not. At worst we will get shipment data from launch until June 30.

With the very limited data we have weeks 2 and 3 are likely around 1 million combined for ~4.5 million sold in 3 weeks. Subject to change as more data becomes available.

Hi! Thanks for that!! I was just curious since there was so much buzz around the first days and then... pretty much nothing concrete. It was not a jab at you guys, more curiosity than anything else. :)

"I am priced out of gaming when I could afford to buy the once generational console before and now I can't. Games back in snes days went on discount earlier as well. So did consoles. Now consoles might increase in price over a generation instead of decrease, like the ps5. And currency is a matter of factor as well. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft nor others price their games according to the local currency unlike steam. $10 is huge in India for example. I get you all like to defend your favourite video game company and get all defensive, but I am not some rival video game fan or whatever in the team sports thing." |
I gave a general example of a random country
Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

seems its possibly passed 5 mil

Basically the guy who first saw found it on the official Nintendo site and then they took it down, others say it my might be forecast numbers

We spotted that a week ago, which would mean it was posted before the end of the quarter suggesting it is a forecast rather than sales numbers. There is a good chance it is above 5M for June.
Nintendo did provide a breakdown in those figures from region:
Famitsu has Switch 2 at 1.24M sold in Japan through June 22 and that does not include My Nintendo Store sales. So Japan is most likely going to be above the 1.47M figure.
Week one in the US was 1.1M without My Nintendo Store and Circana (NPD) stated week one is likely 1.3M-1.35M week one when you add in the missing the data. That would likely put week one in the Americas in the 1.5M to 1.6M range. So only 200K to 300K shy of the 1.8M figure from Nintendo. And that is with another 3 weeks and a couple of days sales remaining. So like with Japan, the Americas will likely end up above 1.8M.
With the little bit of data we have for Europe so far, that figure seems a bit more reasonable.
That page also from Nintendo is shipped, so while the console is selling out it still takes a bit of time to ship consoles to retailers and warehouses. So there will be some gap between shipped and sell-through. Either way Nintendo will release their earnings report on August 1.
