We spotted that a week ago, which would mean it was posted before the end of the quarter suggesting it is a forecast rather than sales numbers. There is a good chance it is above 5M for June.
Nintendo did provide a breakdown in those figures from region:
- WW: 5M
- Americas: 1.8M (36%)
- Japan: 1.47M (29.4%)
- Europe: 1.18M (23.6%)
- Others: 0.55M (11%)
Famitsu has Switch 2 at 1.24M sold in Japan through June 22 and that does not include My Nintendo Store sales. So Japan is most likely going to be above the 1.47M figure.
Week one in the US was 1.1M without My Nintendo Store and Circana (NPD) stated week one is likely 1.3M-1.35M week one when you add in the missing the data. That would likely put week one in the Americas in the 1.5M to 1.6M range. So only 200K to 300K shy of the 1.8M figure from Nintendo. And that is with another 3 weeks and a couple of days sales remaining. So like with Japan, the Americas will likely end up above 1.8M.
With the little bit of data we have for Europe so far, that figure seems a bit more reasonable.
That page also from Nintendo is shipped, so while the console is selling out it still takes a bit of time to ship consoles to retailers and warehouses. So there will be some gap between shipped and sell-through. Either way Nintendo will release their earnings report on August 1.
