Forums - Microsoft - Final Fantasy 16 now available on Xbox Series, FF7 Remake coming next January 22nd

Witcher 3 was put on Switch 1. And the gap from Switch 2 to PS5 is closer than Switch 1 to PS4. If they want it to happen, it will happen.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is amazing. I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoyed the original game on PS1.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't mean FF16 on Switch 2 would be impossible, but it would be trickier and take more work than FF7 Remake, as a more demanding game. It could definitely happen, but they may also just skip it rather than commit to such a challenging port.

This isn't true for the CPU. in single core performance the CPU of Switch and PS4 was a match, but PS4 had 8 cores and Switch had 3 so PS4's beat it 2x over despite it still being a terrible CPU. The CPU of Switch 2 and PS5 are in a different world in both single core and multi core.

The Switch is closer to the PS4 than the Switch 2 is to the PS5, at least in GPU benchmarks.

Which makes sense since the OG Switch was released with a noticeably more modern architecture than the PS4, while the Switch 2 components come from the same timeframe as the current consoles. Of course, though, the Switch had no DLSS.

Rebirth runs on Steam Deck. FF16 while not the best, does run on Steam Deck. Since Switch 2 is more powerful and more capable. Def doable.

Oh I agree, it is definitely doable, just makes sense that they are prioritizing FF7 Remake as a much less demanding port.

364th most played game on Xbox. In other words. It's not doing all that well.
