I think we can all agree that the PS3 is more popular in Europe, and while the 360 may get a boost, I think its GTA ads are helping out the PS3 more. People know its going to be on PS3, and seeing how the PS3 is on the rise, I expect to see a much larger boost to the PS3.

@ Selnor in other european countries, they watch football on their own national network, the ad would only have aired where microsoft paid each individual network an you can only guarantee that happened in the UK, so those ads would only have an estimated audience of 2-3 million

The real battle for GTAIV is not in europe, MS has already lost here, but in the states, where sony has a chance to see the ps3 sells rise up!

I don't watch too much T.V. so haven't seen any ads for the game. I think I saw a poster for the game at a movie theater but it wasn't for any particular console.

The real battle is everywhere... Microsoft is interested in stealing as many sales from the PS3 as possible. Even if they lose in Europe, they want to come as close as possible to the PS3, which can be seen as a victory in "Sony-land". That way, developers won't have a reason to ignore the 360, continuing the ongoing practice of PS360 multiplatform titles.

well MS released their console more than one year before sony and ps3 global sales in europe catch up with 360's ... For ex, in Belgium, there is almost no 360 in stores, only games ... And at the end, they won't be close from ps3, believe me.

As I said, I think the "real" battle's not europe, but the states, where the ps3 still can catch up the 360.

Maybe the reason there are no 360's in stores in Belgium is because the 360 is so popular it is selling out?

not on any tv ads, no. it just says "gta on the xbox 360, console starting from £159.99"
