Trump's fantasy about China also "kissing his ass and begging for a deal" is crumbling In real time.

80 USD per game is close to 500 BRL in local currency. The odds of Switch 2 being successful in Brazil are 0. On Playstation and Xbox we can leverage high software prices to discounts after a few years, or simply subscribe to service (Game Pass and PS Online prices are adjusted to local currency, so we don't pay as much as Americans)

With Nintendo there is no such options, so the games are simply cost prohibitive

I can see Nintendo exiting our market again, sad life

Not much diferent than before with TOTK reaching 420 BRL. They will still have deals during its lifetime also 3rd party titles that sometimes hit bargain price.

They can also compensate by being cheapest system in the market compared with competion, I am confident that will be cheaper than PS5 DE here. Plus they will still got the Switch rolling, so i doubt they will leave this market

Just like the US economy is crumbling thanks to him. And so are other economies, I imagine.

im gonna go bold and make a prediction: Trump isn’t passing many/any of these tariffs. He’s just running the same charade as he did back in January/February/March.

Well there's only 9 hours till they begin.

i was spot on! Donald has no backbone at all. He knows that once the tariffs are enforced, the economy implodes, which is bad for business and approval (and the US loses a lot of leveraging power). It’s a weak attempt at “strong-arming” countries to submit to US demands.

Talk about terrible timing for Nintendo.

There's a 90 day "pause" on tariffs with the exception being China.

Who knows how long that'll last lol. At least it gives Sony and Nintendo some time to prepare for the rest of the year. It should make the Switch 2's launch month a lot more stable, and perhaps even on pace for the highest console launch ever.

Glad that they paused the tariffs but that just shows how poorly thought out they were to begin with. We need an adult in the room.

Trying to pull a massive scare tactic only to reverse course 12 hours later after no one flinched is an 11/10 power move!

LET THE SWITCH 2'S POUR IN!!!

Trump literally said: "Y u no kiss my ass and beg for a trade deal?! Dishonorable!!!"

Let's see how he's going to spin his probable defeat to China as a holy victory. I guess he did partly succeed in manipulating the market for a few rich assholes.

On the bright side, hopefully Nintendo sticks with their original Switch 2 pricetag!
