Here's a pretty good comparison of the 2 versions.

The Switch 2 version is absolutely fantastic and represents the kind of visual fidelity that I think is the current golden standard: A sweet spot between realism and art design without compromising performance.

It's a no-brainer: I'm getting it as soon as I buy a Switch 2

Also, the fact that this runs at 4K and is just a port from the Switch 1 really bodes well for what Nintendo can achieve with the Switch 2 in terms of technical capabilities. With the original Switch, I think they peaked at launch. This time, I believe even more impressive-looking games will come later. Nintendo teams are still new to 4K development. CCurious to see what Monolith and Zelda teams are cooking

That first boss looks fun.

I mean... It was almost a 1:1 copy of the first boss in Metroid Prime 3.

I watched the gameplay and honestly... does not look like a Metroidvania, more like an action game

It's not a problem, because Dread is already an action side-scroller and is a great game as it is. But I think it's missing a core feature from Metroid, which is maze-like structures and backtracking to explore new secrets. Of course, we can't just judge by a 17 minutes presentation, but it's the vibes I'm getting. Less "metroidvania" and more "action" from this one

But that was the intro section, I fully expect the planet Samus gets teleported to to have the standard maze-like level design.

Signature goes here!

I just love the contrast of some people being dead certain this would only be a Switch 1 release, to now it's maybe the most impressive looking and performing game on Switch 2 so far.

Why would you want to believe in a world where this doesn't exist.

As I said, it was just the vibes. We will discover when the game gets released

Most of the prime games opened with more linear action orientated sections, followed by the more classic metroidvania style after. Especially prime 3. So I imagine this will be similar.

That first boss looks fun. Also I kinda wish that Samus had a giant mecha suit like we saw the Federation using.

Going with the theme of the game, the mech would also possess psychic abilities 🧠

Or at least Samus would be able to channel psychokinesis through it.

Thanks for the link.  This is the game I am buying a Switch 2 for.

The intro cutscene is absolutely beautifully done. Makes me wonder what this game would look like if they added a ray-tracing mode. Hopefully if Prime 4 does well, we get a Prime 5.

I absolutely can't wait to play the Switch 2 version in the Fall or Winter when it releases. Can't believe we are saying that about a new Metroid Prime game.
