Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Switch 2 Direct - 1 Day Left

The announcement of a new console is always a very important date for any gamer, no matter what is your favorite company.

Switch 2 will have a special Nintendo Direct on April 2nd, so I made this thread for us to debate about this particular event. Let's discuss what we expect to see and after the main event, our opinions about it.

Feel free to talk about the next Nintendo system. I will update this thread with the Direct as soon as it releases.

Mario or bust, excited to see the next 3D Mario game. Hoping the Chrono Trigger noise is real and shows up at the Switch direct.

The next 3D Mario and sequel to Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is all I need.

Zelda BotW Remaster, mainline 3D Mario, and MarioKart NSW2 seem very likely (if not borderline confirmed). Any chance for Smash Bros? Or Splatoon 4? I wouldn’t think the next mainline 3D Kirby would ready so soon… We could maybe see Animal Crossing.

I'm pretty ready to see this. I hope to see Splatoon 4 and to find out if Metroid Prime 4 will be enhanced for the 2. I am not holding my breath on either score. I kind of expect to see a focus on 3rd party games.

A new Splatoon is a given, since it's one of the most popular Nintendo franchises for online multiplayer. Even if it's not shown at this Direct, I think it will come very soon after the launch.

The question is if it's going to be a brand new game or a port/remaster of the previous entry.

I'm expecting it to be iterative just like 2 and 3.  A good many of the same maps and weapons.  Probably 20% new maps and a couple new specials. I would love to be wrong on that and get a bunch of new maps and major overhauls of old maps. I am also hoping for a strong single player campaign.

Not that I played it, but I wonder if the card game was popular enough to make Splatoon 4

Im excited to see the new 3D Mario.

Also its April 2nd, not the 4th.

Oh.

Thanks, I fixed it.

I'm excited. Nintendo is on top of their game right now. Their games are always the highlight, even if the console doesn't sell well. I just hope for less remakes and remasters. If they can get through a direct without a remake/remaster it would be a miracle.
