Don't forget the OG Xbox. Microsoft was shoveling dirt on its grave before the 360 came out.

Wii was very rough as well. Just Dance was about it. Pandora's Tower (which I haven't played) launched in 2013 in North America, but it launched before Wii U's launch in other major regions. |
Oh yeah, Wii was really rough as well - though I liked Pandora's Tower.

OG XBOX got quite a bit of games in 2006 (360 launched in 2005), but yeah, it was dead from 2007.
Most games in the Xbox360/ PS3// PS4/ Xbox one ara where cross gen games so they had no USP despite a lower price tag.

I actually thought Xbox's post-replacement support, while short lived, was actually quite solid.
It got Black, (one of the finest shooters of the 6th gen) Splinter Cell Double Agent, Hitman Blood Money, Far Cry Instincts Evolution, Tomb Raider Legend, Prince of Persia Two Thrones, Need for Speed Carbon, Call of Duty 3, etc.

Multiplatform games still count. Heck, most games that gen were actually better on Xbox than PS2.

Thats true but a GOOD post replacement lineup (at least for me) are games that don't release on the sucessor, therefore the 3DS seems to clearly be the better choice...

Personally I still count crossgen games since a lot of folks don't upgrade right away so being able to play them on one's console still has merit.
I ended up playing and enjoying games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Advanced Warfare, Battlefield Hardline, Wolfenstein The New Order, etc on my Xbox 360 since I didn't have an Xbox One.

1- 2 years of cross gen are ok! I don't want to get personal here but if someone is not able or willing to afford a new console 4 years into the gen (the PS5 without DD is 400€ here in europe, the same goes for the XSS) he/ she should really look for another hobby or a better job! Thank you! I do not buy any cross gen game beyond a certain point and if GTA VI was cross gen i would never get it and it probably would sell below expectations!
