Not sure what a 'primary' system really means. Parents that buy it to their children likely view it as the child's main gaming system. Older people who can afford multiple consoles, likely purchase based on their gaming needs and preferences. I play Switch both at home and away, and play PS5 (And to a much lesser extent my gaming PC and XBOX) when at home.

If you own any of the 3 systems, there is little reason to own the other two (for gaming), and plenty of reasons to own a Switch.

I'd say if someone has an Xbox or Playstation there is notable reason to also have a decent gaming PC especially if it's the former. It's a lot more redundant between the two consoles than the consoles and PC due to all the unique benefits of the latter. In particular if someone has a PS5 there is increasingly little reason to get an Xbox Series at this point.
