I never had a Playstation 3, and back in the early 2010s, a lot of people, my friends included, and gaming websites were all about The Last of Us. People from that time knows what I'm talking about. Many gamers, websites, and people on Youtube were labeling it as "the best game ever made". I never understood why. Well, since my only Sony console is a Playstation 2, and the game never came to PC before the Playstation 5 remake, I had to wait a long time to play it. But, the day has finally come.
To be honest, I knew how the story started (prologue), since I saw a quick gameplay of the first moments on Youtube, and I watched the first episode of the live action series. But other than that, everything is new for me.
I have to say that I'm in love with the cinematics. One of my frieds, who got addicted to the game back in the PS3 days said it was almost a movie experience. And I think he was right. The story is really good, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm on chapter 4 right now, and I can't wait to see more about the plot. The graphics are what I was expecting for a PS5/PC game. I'm not sure if it's the best I ever played, maybe Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Ghostwire: Tokyo with RTX on were better, but The Last of Us is indeed quite a realistic looking game.
About the gameplay... I'm honestly divided about it. I like the exploration of the scenarios and the combat gameplay, but there's something I'm really not enjoying... I don't know how these things are called in english, but there are some zombie-things that can kill you with a cutscene, even if you have full health. And in order to stealth kill them, you need a knife, that you must craft before possessing it. It all looks a bit dumb for me, and it doesn't help the fact that I'm really awful at stealth games. To give you guys an idea, I was playing the first Metal Gear Solid for PS1 a couple of days ago, and I died THREE times at the very first segment, waiting for the elevator. That's how bad it is.
Well... This game so far is a solid 9 for me. Can't wait to play more. Oh, and please, no spoilers about the game in that thread. That includes story, amount of chapters, and time to beat it. You can talk about hints for the gameplay, though.
