It looks like the Switch OG alone will reach 20 million units next week.

Speaking of which, I have an interesting idea to guess the final hardware sales of each SKU of the Switch.
For the Switch OG, I seriously doubt it will ever reach 21m. So let's say 20m. For the Lite, I think 7m is doable, 8m seems too difficult. As for the OLED, I would say, 10m is guaranteed. But a higher number, I can't say, should still be possible, depending on when the next generation is launched and whether the OLED will be discontinued at that time.
In this case, it means that the final sales of the Switch in Japan should be at least 20+7+10=37m.

Now that DQ3 has been out for a few weeks, it's clear that the Switch's version is going to have much better legs than the PS5 version.  I know that is true in general for any game that gets released on both platforms, but this week the difference is 55k in sales vs. 4k in sales.  That's a huge difference.

At this rate, Switch will cross 35 million in about 4-5 weeks - Right around the start of the year.

Honestly, 40 million isn't out of the question.

Same scenario would have happened if the latest final Fantasy games (downgraded version of course) were released on Switch. Doesn't Square Enix want millions of Yen profit from Japanese gamers? That is a bad business decision on their part.

I think they made some deal with Sony to make the recent FF games to be Playstation exclusive (or at least timed exclusive), because they weren't on XBox either.  And some games get a deal from Sony to simply not be on Nintendo.  I can't think of a good reason why Metaphor ReFantasio shouldn't have been on Switch except that Sony made some kind of deal to keep it off of a Nintendo platform.

Really surprised to see super mario maker 2 in the top 30! Has it been up there a lot recently?
Also a bit surprised BotW and TotK have been kinda absent lately, but i guess EoW is pulling the weight at the moment.

Zelda doesn't resonate with JP quite like it does with NA/EU. Plus, as you state, I think EoW might be the biggest reason for those other two not selling too hot atm. If you want a Zelda game, you’re prolly looking at the new game that released a few months ago. Especially when Nintendo has been pushing ads on EoW over BotW/TotK.

Highly unlikely considering Sony wasn't even allowed to state that the game was coming to its platform for quite some time or market it as well. The same happened with P3P,P4G and P3 Reload. MS paid for the marketing of those and even paid Atlus to not disclose additional platforms for quite some time. MS pushed Metaphor hard and that's your likely candidate for skipping Switch. That along with the long development time of the game and hardships that Atlus had with their previous game (Switch version of SMTV) it's easy to see why Atlus took the MS bag and concentrated dev time on platforms that could run their game better performance wise. It still doesn't run flawlessly on modern platforms either.  Now they can just do late Switch port or even Switch 2 now and get the double dippers anyways.

look at those Switch sales, congratulations!
Switch 2 will be super loved in Japan, cant wait
