Oh I've seen enough clips to know the game is a shit show but it doesn't look like "a 2007 game at less than 20fps", you could have it looking and running a lot better, it'll still be junk and the grass will still be sickening, maybe more sickening but it won't be that bad. Just save often.

Oh for sure i will be very playable on his PC. But I've waited 17 years, can wait another one :p

Gonna check out the pro enhancements for GT7 now. PSVR2 got a massive upgrade, reddit has been praising it all day.

First I played some Synthriders to warm up, got sucked into it as it also had an update. Now full HDR (looks amazing in the headset) and also looks sharper. And since I was home alone for a bit I could let my surround system stretch its legs for a bit. Most of the soundtracks have great bass lines, feel the rhythm :)

That extended HDR range steals the show, like buying a new tv.

Off to GT7!

Borrow your kids PC.

Looking at the Steam forum, plenty people have problems with a 3060 as well :/

I rather wait a year to let the devs finish the game first. Apart from technical issues there are also many progress bugs reported and other permanent glitches that can end up in your save.

It's on Gamepass so I can always check it out on Series X as well. But as people recommend a 4090 for this game, PS5 Pro might be the minimum lol.

It's looking very choppy on Series X and nothing is going on yet (footage starts at 1:10)

Play at 30fps in quality mode, or buy a VRR TV to play in performance mode (seems max 50fps)

Yeah, I'm going to be waiting a year for things to be ironed out, and hopefully by then I'll have sold my parents old house and use some of the money to make a brand new rig for this and other games I've not been playing due to my current rig being sluggish.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

I'll be playing a lot this weekend, haven't really played much of anything for months now. This game kicks my CPUs ass, it's very heavy on it. Based on its concurrent player record, it seems to have sold decently as well, let's see what the first weekend looks like.

GSC announced the game has already sold 1 million copies. So it's definitely doing very well. Didn't give a Game Pass player count number though. Just purely sales.

The game is beating the crap out of my CPU too lol. Especially towns. I saw a video from JuiceHead yesterday that in GSC's Discord server, they're answering any and all questions from users, and they mentioned they have a slew of hotfixes in the works over the next couple of weeks. First one coming very soon and will be addressing performance issues and stability. They mentioned the Day 1 patch fixed over 1,200 issues. Their A-Life tech is currently bugged that they're also working on.

I'm still having a great time with the game!

I watched the DF video on the game, there are huge spikes on load on the CPU. My 7800X3D is getting its ass handed to it on the regular.

When the A-Life functions are fully operational, this will be absolutely brilliant. I'm already having so much fun, just cleared my first large base! Silencers are a must, especially on higher difficulties.

The JuiceHead video video said that a lot of people are reporting that stealth is broken, what's the word on that?  Then again, that video also said that some of the conflicting information might have something to do with people playing different difficulties, which seem to seem to have more variation between them than with most games.  Of course, stealth is broken one way or another in pretty much everything, so it could be that people just have different expectations.

Yes, I fully intend to play a stealth archer at first.

Got to say that I love the art direction and environmental design but also that mutant animals look incredibly annoying.

Stealth is not broken on Veteran difficulty, enemies have immense range on detection, and they respond quickly to noise as well. There are takedown kills with the knife, but getting in position is tough, especially in areas with lots of enemies. Almost all of my bigger fights end up with me running madly between rooms and cover, picking of targets with rifle or pistol, depending on the range, and healing between. Being unable to save while hostiles are actively hunting or attacking is also a factor that ups the difficulty a lot. Sometimes, I disengage and hide away so I can save the game. Bases are sometimes hard to clear, but I find encounters out in the wild to be simpler. I just (as in; less than an hour ago) had an incident where two factions had a huge shootout in/near a small building. None of them were hostile towards me, so I let them duke it out, and then took some loot. Mind you, NPCs take loot as well! Then, after the fight was over and the winners had gone, a third group arrived, drawn by the sounds of fighting, looking for loot. I ended up in an intense shootout with those bastards, but managed to take them down. Radiant events are amazing, even without the full system being up and running.

Some mutants are annoying, especially the levitating ones underground; they do a lot of damage and they can take a lot of punishment. Others are easier, but some have high HP. I use anomalies for some of them, things like dogs are easy enough regardless of tactics. Overall, the combat is a blast, and the resource management is immersive and fun. I've never come close to running out of anything though, as I'm a very conservative player type in games like this. Enemies typically don't carry a lot of ammo, but it can be found in crates and on shelves all the time.

After about 10 hours, I only just moved on from the official starting zone (Lesser Zone). Game's huge!

Repairs are a bit annoying, it's expensive as hell, armor can get beat up badly by anomalies and cost a fortune to repair. I'm currently running with the starting pistol, a hunting rifle for close encounters, and a scoped assault rifle (AKM 74S, available near the start of the game, it sits atop the Water Tower).

I'm a couple hours in. The more I play the more I've been enjoying it since I've been getting the hang of it. I've never played a Stalker game and it has a bit of a learning curve. It's a hard game and I've died a decent amount already so I make sure to save frequently.
Performance on Series X is good. Graphics are decent. I haven't ran into any bugs that I can think of.

It's a very different experience from most shooters, or even most games. It's very similar to the original in many ways. In the right ways, in my opinion. Glad even newcomers are having fun with it!

A-Life and dead zones won’t be included in this first patch, but some very welcome improvements!
