I saw 41% on PS consoles, 29% on PC and 30% on Xbox consoles. But again I can only find one site breaking it down per system and I dont know how accurate that is since I can only find combined sales on other sites.

The one I saw, had PC at like 40%+ and basically same with Playstation, with Xbox at 18%.
I think PC was the biggest one of the 3 btw... (not by much, but a slight bit bigger than PS split).

I seriously doubt 30% of all Eldren Ring sales were on Xbox.

Yeah youre right. It does sound like too much.

Found out that Dark Souls Remastered sold more on Switch than Xbox though. Thats pretty cool.

If this happens FromSoft games on PC will have mandatory PSN Account requirements. Not great for the shitload of countries that do not have PSN.

That was for the UK only though after launch week..

Maybe the site thought it was worldwide. Dont say anything about UK only. Says 25 million worldwide as of june 30th and then breaks down the sales.

They might have used UK launch figures in the site you're referencing for the 25M milestone but the % you're mentioning are the launch % for the UK.

Elden Ring is the biggest non-FIFA or Call of Duty launch since Red Dead Redemption 2 | UK Digital Charts | GamesIndustry.biz

"According to GSD's digital and physical numbers, 32% of sales were on PlayStation 5, 30% on PC, 29% on Xbox and 9% on PS4."

41% PS, 30% PC, 29% Xbox

Fair enough. I stand down

So thats the "split" from 1 week of sales in the UK?

What does the total sales in the entire world, look like as of say 30million sales? (instead of just its 1st week in the uk?)

Here is a article from the same guy, same place, a week or two, lateron, with world wide sales split:

That looks like this:

" The FromSoftware game sold best on PC, representing 44% of total sales. Then it's PS5 with 27%, then Xbox (16%) and finally PS4 (13%). "

Source : https://www.gamesindustry.biz/elden-ring-is-the-biggest-new-ip-since-the-division-european-monthly-charts

There its 44% PC, 40% PS, 16% XB.

Better numbers, since World > UK, and 3 weeks or so > 1 week of sales data.

Weird seeing Sony people on various forums excited for this, given Sony's recent record with acquisitions and the years of bitching we have heard about how Sony is mismanaging the one FromSoft IP they own (Bloodborne). Now they'd own all of them.

edit, maybe they own Demon's Souls too, idk

What I find to be most weird is how these ppl, who have been completely against nearly all acquisitions ever since Microsoft merged with Activision, are taking a complete heel-turn. Not only defending, but supporting, this current acquisition. I'm a Nintendo gamer, but if Shiguru Miyamoto came out one day to announce they've merged with SqEnix, for example, I would not be pumping my fist. I would be pretty disappointed and upset with (as well a little concerned about) Nintendo.

Acquisitions are bad. Period. Unless we're talking small studios which lack any major IP (e.g. Grezzo would be an example of a great acquisition by Nintendo), acquisitions are not healthy for the overall market. If FromSoftware is under the control of Sony, then PC/Microsoft/Nintendo gamers (NSW2 was almost certainly getting strong FromSoft support with an Elden Ring port, for instance) can all say "Buh-Bye!" to day one release of FromSoftware titles.

This is bad for the market. Nobody should be supporting it. Might not be quite as egregious as Microsoft taking Activision under their wing, but it certainly isn't anything good. I hope an anti-trust case prevents Sony from exerting exclusivity control on FromSoftware titles.

I honestly hope this happends.

After we learned it wasn't just a rumor.
I think this is good for both parties.
The only ones that might suffer abit, will be xbox users.... I could see sony makeing some titles Playstation/PC only.
(On the gaming side, even if this is likely mostly for the Anime/Manga aspect, and IPs there)

Soon BloodBorne Remake, BloodBorne 2, demon souls ect.... and maybe a new Elden Ring afterwards...
And maybe sony borrows, some of those Anime IP and make some Isekai based RPGs.
(I'm hugely into Lightnovels, Mangas and love Isekai stuff.... and RPGs.... LET IT HAPPEND!)

You're sounding exactly like the Xbox fans who were cheering for the acquisition of ABK, and no, this isn't a compliment.

Ryzen 7 5700G

Radeon RX 6750 XT

16 GB of RAM

Steam Deck

Nintendo Switch OLED

This is another reason I hope Sony doesn't acquire Kadokawa.

It's like they know it's a good game that has revived a beloved franchise so they're trying to kill it on the spot.
