Forums - Gaming Discussion - 2024 Duds of the Year. Biggest Letdowns for you.

My biggest letdown was definitely FF7 Rebirth. As a person who didn't rate the original as highly as others, I rated FF7 Remake in my top 10 JRPGs of all time. I expected a top 10 JRPG and FF7 Rebirth is simply not it. At least 20 hours of it was straight annoying. FFXVI despite many flaws, is the better game to get.

Hellblade 2. Was expecting a much more improved game over the first but all we got was essentially an unreal engine 5 tech demo.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail for me. I play this mmo since 2015 and I love the gameplay (pve because I dont care for pvp), community, history, etc. I was very hyped for that expansion and is very VERY below my expectations.

(=^・ω・^=) Kuroneko S2 - Ore no Imouto - SteamMyAnimeList and Twitter - PSN: Gustavo_Valim - Switch FC: 6390-8693-0129 (=^・ω・^=)

They need to reboot the whole thing, the game has started to age poorly and the expansions have gone down hill one after another. Rebuilding from the ground up for modern hardware with bigger maps without it being instanced in small chunks. They need to follow what ashes of creation is doing regardless wheter that game is a scam or not, the ideas are sound and modernised.

Echoes of wisdom.

It starts well and just never goes up. Throw monster X at monster Y. That is fun at first but gets meh eventually. You just sit and wait for either to die. Re-summon if needed etc.

Exploring starts better and ends equally meh. How do I get up? Oh I use monster Z. I need to get across? Monster C.

The puzzles were great but far and few between.

You are bound to love Earthbound.

Hellblade 2 for sure. It just a very underwhelming follow up to the very good first game.

Dragon Age Veilguard: Tho tbh im not done with it, im still playing it. I guess "dud" is not the right world, cause the game plays fantastic and looks fantastic, its more just a bit disappointing. The issue im having with it its the writing - which is bland. And writing is what id expect the series to do well.

I was so wrong about Stellar Blade, it is the perfect infusion of soulborne, Sekiro and old GoW/DmC stylish combo hack ,' Slash. You need to get in rythym with the game to start to get in the flow state and kick ass with crazy moves which are oddly very easy to accomplish consistently as apposed to old MCD/GOW. really starts to click between the second and third boss. What a delightful game, I can see this being a ten if it keeps on this direction or at least a 9. I just love that they bridged the gap between retro and souldborne and found a middle ground. Can't wait to play more of it.

I don't see GoW in it at all and GOD no to DmC. DMC yes. DmC ugh none of that vomit soaked turd. The game is great and even does some Resident Evil

I prefer DmC 😆, God that game was such more fun to master than any other DMC title and the platinum was an incredible challenge but yes, Stellar Blade def has DMC 4 in it more than anything else, there's a little bit of sekiro in there with the perfect parties and doge mechanics and a sort of souls like vibe to the over all exploration and level design as well as combat encounters and pacing.

I'm starting to fall in love with it.

Stellar is apparently coming to PC.  It will be top my list.
