Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you like playing with digital barbie/Ken dolls?

Yes I enjoy..

Digital Ken dolls 0 0%

Digital Barbie dolls 1 10.00%

Both digital Barbie and Ken dolls 3 30.00%

Not engaging in this degeneracy. 6 60.00%

Total:10

Games like FF14 online, Korean MMO's, Gacha games and FTP games like The last decendant plus many more... oh and Stellar Blade, the reason I made this thread. They put an emphasis on fashion and outfitting your character, not just for other people to see but as a whole gameplay loop for you the player. Do you enjoy that gameplay loop? Especially if you have to go out of your way to obtain outfits and gear?

Also, do you prefer a digital barbie doll or a Ken doll? Personally I play with both and enjoy both equally, perhaps I enjoy playing with barbie dolls more as they get the better outfits and gear but in MP games I always go for Ken dolls as it seems weird to have other people think you're a girl (Guy in real life). Alas, games like Dragon age Inquisition, MH rise and now Stellar Blade, I have immense fun playing with digital barbie.

To the extent that I like to make my character look cool where possible, yes. I don't dress up female characters just for my own nefarious purposes.

So... in FF14.... the Glamour thing is basically what your talking about.
Yes.... yes people do.

There's tons of people playing MMO's that will struggle through tirelessly, grueling quests and such to unlock stuff.... just to look better / different.
Even myself, I want my character to look good (even if I'm not heavily into it, yes it does matter to me).  Also if you character always looks the same, sometimes you just reach that point, your like "it's time for a change".

You see those videos of people, that give zero f***s and purposefully make ugly looking faces and clown like bodies for their characters.
Because the silliness of it it, is fun to them... yeah that's not me.  I want my character to look decent.

I'm almost always a male character, since you asked.

In the same way that there's people that make ugly, silly looking characters for a laugh... these people that make sexy babes, as their thing, ' cuz why not?  If your gonna spend all that time looking at a character, why not have it be a beautiful lady (they'll say)?  Again, that's just not me.

That said, I think most (that don't make the fugly looking silly characters), will want to have their character look badass or sexy or whatever.
So I think this is something that actually does matter to a large majority of the gamers out there.

You think all 100% of my 1400 hours in DA:I is just playing it and doing combat?

Untold hours were spent collecting resources to make certain outfits and then colouring them to look good.

Hmm, pie.

Also think how many games have micro transactions for skins and such.... even in something like CS, its a huge thing.
Yes it matters.

Wow. Ya went hard on it. Did you not use the dupe glitch with the chest in skyhook? Or was it patched.

Yeah and here I am, playing the little lalafel character so my character can take up less space and I can tank better. I get it though, I got quite addicted to it myself, especially after they added trans mog and the fact that you have so many classes to outfit. Love it. It gives games such as that an extra bit of love and a reason to grind for Gear. Alas, some games fail to hit the mark with characters and gear... look at Concord, what a disaster.

I love fashion in games. There is a reason the term Fashion Souls exists as well. Sometimes I can spend hours in a Character creator. Wrestling games are good for that. Gundam Breaker or Armored Core I make so many mechs and of course mecha cosplay as mechs from other games/anime and such. My character in Sunset Overdrive, my character looking like Travis Touchdown. Daemon X Machina has a good CaC. I usually end up making as many wrestling games as the game allows so 50-100 each time. I love unlocking outfits in games. In RPGs, I often go for red armor. I like the idea of being Crimson Death. It's esp cool in more sci-fi-centered ones so in Ascent red armor. Cyberpunk 2077 is a lot of red with red long hair (fire engine red not natural red) and my Akira Motorcycle. No More Heroes III I have Travis in his NMH2 outfit. The list never ends, but no matter what kind of game it is, it lets me mess with outfits and create characters/ships/mechs whatever I am messing with for a long time.
