I still need to play the master chief collectiomn on gamepass

I played all halo games for the first time 2 years ago and I had a blast with it. They hold up very well.

My quick take on them, from a guy that never played halo before:

- Halo CE: dated mechanics but loved the plot and characters and the pace of it. I can understand how so many people loved it at that time.

- Halo 2: My least favourite of the originals but the redone graphics on the anniversary edition help a lot. Its like night and day.

- Halo 3: Loved it, the high stakes, action, story, my only problem with it is that some of the story happens ofscreen and I think the plot just moves too fast, sometimes youre just shooting stuff and you dont even know about it.

- Halo Reach: One of the best FPS I ever played. Loved every minute of it. Best soundtrack in the series.

- Halo 4: I dont get the hate, I really liked it, loved the new story introduced, the cliffhanger at the end. My only problem with it is that its a bit repetitive especially the long metal corridors. I also hated the final boss "fight". Loved all the rest.

- Halo 5: Pure shit

Lol i've only played halo 5 and liked the shooting part / some enemy encounters, but everything else was a let down.

So they remastered halo 2 but not the first , for the anniversary?

Halo CE: Anniversary was 343i's very first release.

Halo CE: Anniversary was 343i's very first release.

And not completely a 343i project as saber interactive used their game engine and did most of the development work with certain affinity assisting on the Multiplayer side.

I would class it as a Bungie game as it uses all their balancing, physics etc'. With Saber Interactive on top rather than a 343i effort as they were more or less focused on Halo 4 and more or less would have just aided in a consulting and quality assurance capacity.

I just had a thought yesterday. Is this release schedule probable?

November 2026: Halo: CE Remake (25th Anniversary Edition),
November 2027: Halo Ultimate Master Chief Collection - Includes everything from the Master Chief Collection plus Halo 5, Halo Infinite and Anniversary Editions of Halo 3 and Halo 4
November 2028 or November 2029: Halo 7

I'm aware that is a lot of Halo, but Halo has also slowed down a lot in releases and it is possible for Halo Studios to work on multiple titles at once and have a steady stream of releases.

From what I am hearing, Halo 3: Anniversary, made with Unreal Engine 5, seems to be the next Halo game. Maybe a 2025 or 2026 release.

There always is a reason why they chose to show Halo 3 in UE5

That's Halo CE Chief

Just to expand, it's Mark V but Halo Infinite's and then slightly updated for Unreal Engine.

Mark V in CE

Mark V in Halo Infinite

Mark V in Unreal Engine 5

Halo 3 Chief is Mark VI

Here's a GEN3 Mark VI Spartan with a GEN1 Mark V Spartan in Infinite.

Technically, it doesn't confirm it is "Halo CE Chief" but it is the version of armour that Halo CE Chief uses.

Not a Halo fan. Only played 1 and 3 and wasn't a fan but I hope they try a top down twin stick shooter again but put more effort into it. Spartan Ass is ok. Be nice if they made something excellent. Even if outsourcing it.

They did end up making two, Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike. I didn't mind them. A bigger budget and longer game would be welcomed.

True, that is the Chief in CE, however I cannot see them not taking the opportunity in making Halo 3: Anniversary, especially for a UE5 showcase. It's the next in line for a Remake and what a game to showcase the difference with engines. Halo 3 is full of open world beauty and based on the picture, that would look insane.

Yes, a lot of hands helped make CE Anniversary however it's still 343i first release. First time we see the 343 logo on the box. Same for the Coalition with Gears of War: Ultimate.

Have you played Halo 3: ODST? If not, looks like you may have some more Halo goodness in store for yourself. And the soundtrack for it is every bit as amazing as the original trilogy and Reach.

YEs, I did play it, although it felt more like a dlc, which is what is was originally. I liked it a lot, loved the ending. The soundtrack, as usual, was amazing.
