Forums - Sales Discussion - Ubisoft stock tumbles, Star Wars Outlaws reportedly selling poorly

Far Cry 3 was great but it's time to let go Ubi. Enough already.

Speaking of Far Cry 3, I am shocked they have been porting all of the old Assassins' Creed games to the Switch, and yet no port of Far Cry 3. It had a non-multiplayer port for the PS4, no real reason not to do the same with the Switch. It would be cheap and relatively quick.

Hell, I am shocked Ubisoft hasn't licensed the Far Cry 3 rights to Netflix. Michael Mando is still active, he could knock the Vaas part out of the park again.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm feeling a lot of schadenfreude these days for the people involved with producing the product in my favourite hobby..I'm not sure why I'm enjoying seeing them fail, I'm starting to get concerned, I'm usually not this way and hope for the best buy when devs come out and call us talentless freaks and treat us with disdain while not listening and continuing to force their politics on us I can't help but feel a small hint of joy when they are taken down a peg. The logical part of my brain knows this is silly though, there's a lot of talented people who created this game who's fault it really isn't on a individual basis, it's the environment and culture within then studios that's causing the issues, probably disconnected leadership too.

Well deserved, they're possibly the most formulaic developer out there today, and the formula is growing very old. Outlaws is a weird game, I don't understand who they made it for at all. I had some initial interest when the concept was first presented, but quickly lost it when gameplay emerged. It's just uninteresting. Ubisoft have been uninteresting for a long time. The last time they were truly good was around 2010-2015, the likes of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and Far Cry 3, were all brilliant titles with some thought put into them, with interesting mechanics to boot. Human Revolution was downright brilliant, in my opinion.

IMO Half-Life 2 is the best Ubisoft game out there. Everything after that pales in comparison.

For sure! Sorry, got my legends mixed up.

According to GamesIndustry, the game sold just 800k as of "late August" (So basically launch sales)

Incredibly poor numbers for a AAA game from a multi-billion dollar IP.

After a whole month on shelves, sales are apparently at just 1 million.
