Released games that have, or definitely should, hit 5 million sold this year:

Wii Sports (Japan alone has 3 mil)
Wii Play
Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Party 8
Legend of Zelda
Super Smash Brothers
Mario & Sonic at the Olympics
Mario Kart
Wii Fit

that is 9 5mil+ sellers already! 

 

Playstation 2 only has 13 5mil+ sellers in vgchartz' database.  I know that it has more than that because the db isn't 100% up to date, but it's at least somewhat accurate with the major sellers.  Wii could potentially have more than 13 5+mil sellers in 2009 with wii music + a few major releases tba at E3! 

Sure those are all Nintendo games (except M&S which is published by Nintendo in some regions), but it still shows that the Wii is a software selling machine. 

 Also, at least 5 of those should hit 10mil+ (wii sports, wii play, ssbb, mario kart, wii fit, possibly SMG).

 The hardcore machines have 3 and 0 5+mil sellers so far.

Yeah, of course it sells alot, especially Nintendo games. I would just love to see Nintendo unable to use Mario, Zelda and Pokemon for a few years. It would be interesting to say the least. Not hate, just curious.

the major third party players can't even decide if the wii should be defined as a video game console. you can't blame nintendo for lack of third party 5M sellers when they have their thumbs too far up their ass to make a game for the console.

i already stated M&S is the only one, and it's not fully 3rd party

people expect hardcore consoles to have lots of huge selling games because of the hype around certain games and all the 'hardcore gamers' that own the console, but wii is having more 5+mil and 10+mil sellers than either hd console and by next year more than ps2 did
